About two months here and very comfortable. Nice big rooms and bathroom. Restaurant offered excellent meals but limited menu so you would tend to eat out most nights. The Old Town is a few hundred metres away with plenty of choice.

This hotel has many plus points so I have a reluctance to sound negative but I do feel this place is missing a few tricks.
Notably the restaurant has moved upstairs (so the site and pictures need updating) This is probably to get those walking past the hotel in to eat? Meaning the lounge area with the bar and cosy fire is downstairs....without the fire.....and without a bar.......and next to the staff smoking area! A wasted basement in our opinion,shame.
The room was fantastic. And quite. Perhaps being shown that the bathroom had under floor heating would have been an idea,seeing as it was very cold outside. The only other negative point was "please smile" at reception! It would make guests feel so much more relaxed.
Having written this I WOULD recommend the hotel, so this is not meant to put people off. Riga was a wonderful surprise for my partner and I. A fantastic 4 day winter city break. Enjoy.

I chose this hotel for a long weekend stay with my wife as we were visiting Riga for the first time to celebrate her birthday. Hotel Ainavas proved a perfect choice for us and with its old town location everything of interest was pretty much within walking distance. Sure it doesn't have five restaurants, a glittering lobby and an attached spa, but you can visit these elsewhere and pay for what you really value.

Our room was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast in the downstairs room with vaulted ceiling was perfect for our needs. Internet worked with a cable, that reception supplied with no problems. Paying up front made the price very reasonable, especially when you're from the UK.

I slayed in this hotel for 2 nights in October. Location of the hotel is admirable - Center of Old Riga.
It is very small, but realy cosy hotel. Sraff are well-wishing. Room is comfortable, but the fridge in my room was little noisy. The breakfast was good (not only smorgasbord but also omelet and porridge).
