“Fantastic value for money!!! Best location!!”

Came back today, had a great time in Riga!
Hotel location is the best!
We stayed in room 408 , view from the window was great , we had friends with us on Ney Year's night so we could see all the fireworks, wothout going out.
Room was nice and large , bathroom had a shower.Tv chanels (eurosport, euronews). The only thing i would change would be our pillows as they were very hard and uncomfortable.
Breakfast and restorant food was good!
They have a sauna on the 5th floor, nice size and jaquzzi wich was great as the weather was cold, and after a day out to use fcility was great!(advice-to take some water as they dont have water machine there). Reception staff was very helpfull!
Wi-Fi is on the ground floor.
Hope this help.

My wife and I stayed here for four nights.

Wonderfully large modern and clean room.

Superb cooked breakfasts--eggs,sausage,tomato and toast

Great location in the old town with all the major sights within walking disatnce.

Very friendly and helpful staff.

During our eight week tour of Europe we stayed in many fine hotels but this one was the best of the lot. Very highly recommended !

“Great little hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2010

When I saw the outside of the Royal Square, I was slightly disappointed. We were in Riga's old city, and this hotel has a modern exterior. But the hotel proved to be wonderful -- extremely comfortable, modern amenities, a private sauna and jacuzzi one could reserve without any extra charge on the top floor. Breakfast was just fine -- in cafe where one could look right out on one of the city squares. Very convenient to everything in old town. I would definitely go there again.

One warning -- there are bands on either side of the hotel -- about a block away -- they play until I"m guessing midnight -- but the sound was muffled enough that it didn't bother us.

“Finally, a European hotel with an excellent AC system”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2010

Of the 4 hotels I stayed in on my visit to Stockholm, Helsinki, Tallin and Riga, the Royal Square was the only one with a decent air conditioning system. I visited during the month of Aug 2010, which was hot in all 4 cities. This hotel was able to actually cool down the room to make sleeping comfortable. While I know northern European cities have few truly hot days, it was wonderful to come back to a cool room after a hot day of sightseeing. The breakfast was nice and the staff was helpful. There's a PC in the lobby you can use to access the internet at no charge.

“Good hotel, bad sleeping”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 July 2010

I was on a business trip in Riga and stayed in this hotel for one night. And luckily it was only one. The hotel itself is excellent, it has nice rooms, good from inside and outside, however - as it is suggested from its name - it is looking to a big square. And in the summertime the old city centre of Riga is full of life. Lot of tourists, pubs and restaurants outside, and of course concerts. Which is very good, but not if you want to sleep. Because it seems that the windows - maybe only mine - are not insulated properly, so for me it was impossible to sleep. I could only fall asleep around 5 am, so my next day was a mess.

Apart from this fact, it is one of the best hotels in Riga, the location is also excellent.
