Karavella Hotel is 3 STAR but should 3.5. Karaella is very nice. Services is more helpful and kind. Breakfast is Excellent Buffets. Hotel is close to Shopping. Local shopping is close the hotel. Walking from the hotel to tram stop about within 7 mins and taken to shopping about 10-15 minutes. Lots of nice places in Riga. There are very beautiful.

I will come back to the same hotel again.

The hotel has a good restaurant and comfortable rooms, as well as friendly staff and reasonable prices. The location is a bit out of the center, but a quick tram ride is all you need to reach the main part of town. They also took helpfully accpept payment in euros as well as lats.

We stayed two nights and I was a little uneasy, because of reviews, I was reading here. However, if you don't have a problem with old Eastern Block charme you can have an ok stay here. The brekfast was a lot better than most describe it here: fresh veggies, everything replaced until the end friendly service and worth the money, which was the cheapest package trip available. About 15 mins. walk and you reach Old Town Riga, some windows have good views.

stayed there for 2 nights with 11 guys. it seemed a pleasent enough place for the price. until when checking out the hotel the receptionist and security guard who appearedby magic [none speaking english,whilst the same receptionist did the day before] charged us 200 lats before we could leave. the security guard took the mini bus drivers keys and frettened us with police if we did not pay. as our flight was 1andhalf hours from then we payed. would not touch the place again and warn others trippers of the possible surprise when checking out.
