An excellent hotel. Beware of giving them shirts needing dry cleaning rather than laundering. There is no place on the laundry slip for dry cleaning shirts, so I wrote in the request (and circled it) on the laundry slip and also brought the shirt to the front desk and reiterated. Well, the shirt was washed instead and the sleeves of the all wool shirt shrunk about two inches.
Also, I wish the hotel would turn the "sitting room" off the lobby into a truly warm space where one could read a book at night with a glass of wine. Instead, it is really only a shortcut to the elevators. It could be so nice....
This is very attractive hotel in an excellent central location . Despite this it is in a quiet road with no traffic noise . The rooms are spacious and stylishly decorated and furnished with comfortable beds and good quality linen . The bath / shower are also of a good standard .
Service was friendly and efficient. The public areas were fairly minimal and i suspect the breakfast area could become overcrowded if the hotel was busy . Overall the breakfast was reasonable with an adequate selection . However it was not of the same standard as the hotel overall.
I would however highly recommend this hotel particularly as it is such good value
Everything of our short 4-night romantic trip was fine. Beautiful room, perfect service, delicious restaurant (including excellent breakfast), pleasing SPA. But the most important thing is that you don't have feelings like you are at expensive hotel. You feel like you are staying at home of your friends, cozy in a family way. It is much more valuable than pomposity of big 5-star hotels for us. Especially in Riga. Thanks Neiburgs!
This is a great hotel, central location, good facilities, good buffet breakfast. I booked it on the strength of the previous reviews and I wasn't disappointed. If I was being really really picky, the 'room facilities' are a little over described on the hotel webpages (I booked via Expedia)in some cases - there was no ipod dock in the room (but on asking at reception they did provide a cable to connect through the TV). The kitchenette itself is fine - but there is absolutely no cooking equipment at all, so please don't assume you can self cater.
However, all in all, we had a large room with great facilities, the staff were friendly and helpful, and I would certainly rebook it again.
