“Perfectly located, nice and clean hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

Nordic hotel is our favourite hotel in Tallinn, have stayed there 3 times during last year (1-2 nights per stay).

Hotel is perfectly located, it's new so it's nice and clean, rooms are large and WiFi is working without any problems.Relax center is nice and breakfast is plentiful.

The underground garage is good, even if you cannot get directly from the floors into the garage. You have to change lift in the lobby. Also the route to the lift is a bit narrow and therefore not the easiest to get in with the baby carriage.

No real complaints about the service either, nothing special to note either. All the small issues have been solved, but it had required some explaining of my viewpoint. Thus the lower score than other areas.

“Great hotel, great location”

We stayed with another couple here in December 2011. The hotel is very clean and contemporary. It has an open fire in the bar area and the reception area was very impressive. Rooms were lovely, very spacious and brand new bathrooms. We didn't try the spa/pool, thought this was a bit steep for guests of the hotel. It's in an ideal location, 5 minute walk to the square and about 15 mins to the harbour. The breakfast was really good. Lots of choice including, fruit, cereal, yoghurt, breads, pastries etc. There was also a large selection of salad and cooked breakfasts but these wern't as good. The reception staff were very helpful and informative. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Tallinn.

“Contemporary and clean”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

The hotel is big and a little impersonal but rooms are very spacious and clean with muted colours and sophisticated furnishings that I would have expected of a more expensive hotel. There are a lot of guests so you can breakfast in the lobby or restaurant. The lobby has a nice open fire to warm up/dry off by. Food is excellent, from buffet breakfast (smoked salmon, pastries, hot food, cereals) to gourmet salads and Estonian specialities for lunch and dinner. Close to the old town, less than 5 mins walk to bars and restaurants, the historic old town walls and department store Stockmann. A good option for a weekend break in a great city.

“Very good, but...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

Before choosing this hotel I studed Tripadvisor reviews and knew all pros and cons. So, this is to share which of them proved to be true. First of all, if you look for convinient location - this is what you need - the hotel stands in modern hi-tec area but it is only 3 minutes by foot to Viru Gate of Old City, right opposite is Viru hotel and Shopping Center with Food Supermarket, so it is very handy to drop food and drinks to the hotel room on the way, plus under Viru Center there is bus stop to various destinations. Our twin standard room was spacios - around 25 sq.m, very clean, bed linen and towels brand new, additional pillows, simple but elegant, however I must mention that the beds were narrow and uncomfortable. Although I am not very picky about beds, I haven't slept well all four nights of our stay. I shared the room with my friend and knowing from the reviews that bathroom has transparent glass walls, I took with me a piece of cotton cloth and adhesive tape to hang it over the wall, but it didn't work, so the best way to solve the problem is to use toilet switching off the light inside - the room light is quite enough to use bathroom and be invisible for the person in the room, otherwise you would look like being inside the lantern. The modern flat TV has several international channels and free Wi-Fi is speedy, but no kettle, and I like my tea in the room. We stayed there in January when all Russians have 10 day vacation and the hotel was fully booked, but this is no news to Estonia, since it happens every year, however the hotel management failed to deal with the situation - we arrived at the hotel from Moscow train at 9 a.m. and were told to store the luggage and return on 2 p.m. Check-in for the whole crowd started at the same time on 2 p.m. and took us almost 2 hours , it was like security check-in at airports and that was very disappointing, I never have seen check-in like this before anywhere. The same applies to breakfast - we tried all periods from 7.30 to 10.30 - there always was no place to seat and scarcity of meals. Maybe, when the hotel is not fully booked, the situation is better, but in my case I would name the breakfast just satisfactory - nothing - special. I must say for the hotel that the restaurant Monaco though unpopulated is very good in its high cuisine way - try the yummiest duck breast with cherry dressing, and the Lobby bar serves delicious fruit and berry ice-cream. All in all it was nice stay, value for money and I would recommend this hotel to friends.
