January 2012: My daughter & I just returned from 4 days in Tallinn, Estonia, we had a brill time - snow every day. Wear warm sweaters & good footware for snow, it wasn't too cold -4 most days. We stayed in the Old Town Maestro Hotel EXCELLENT! - Very easy to get to. Get €1 ticket in the Airport, bus right outside, get off at the Viru Shopping Centre, took 15-20 mins. Easy 3-4 min walk through Viru shopping Centre, cross the double roads, straight ahead, the entrance to the Old Town 3-4 min to hotel. HOTEL: Warm, very clean & cosey, excellent location for sight seeing and to explore the underground Restaurants & Bars in the evening. ROOMS: We had a suite on the 5th floor - super size room, comfortable beds and excellent bathroom facilities with walk-in showwer. BREAKFAST: basic but good. Plenty of ham, cheese, yogurt, crepes & bread. Also a variety of cooked items: fried egg, sausage, meatballs etc. STAFF: very friendly and helpful. Definitely go to the Town Hall for hot wine & pies or Old Hansa for beer, great atmosphere, candle light everywhere, staff in Medieval costumes GREAT! Visit the Kiek in de Kok Tower, the Bastion Tunnels a MUST! There is lots to do and see. The Old town is very atmospheric at night, a real 'fairyland' of lights towers & steeples. Enjoy! we certainly did.
Room Tip: As there are a few nightclubs quite close, ask for a room at the back of the Hotel, preferably 5th f...
