From the outside, this is a lovely hotel. The building is attractive - from the 30s - and the location right on the beach is perfect if you're planning on spending some time by the sea. The weather was pretty awful while we were there, which is of course not the hotel's fault, but it gave us plenty of time to realise that if you can't use the beach, the hotel itself is pretty disappointing. The receptionist [male] wasn't particularly friendly. The room was small but the bathroom was absolutely tiny - so much so that when you have a shower, the entire floor gets wet. [Helpfully, they leave a swooshie thing for you to mop up after yourself!] The hotel brochure in the room boasts that it was renovated in 1994 and I think it might be about time to go over it again. The mattress protector was covered in stains and the walls were very scuffed. The upholstery in the public sitting areas was torn. Breakfast was ok but if felt like eating in a canteen. I'd recommend Parnu, but not this hotel. Unless the weather is fantastic and you can be out all the time....

the staff tried to give us single room with small bed instead of nornal double room. no conditioning, extermly loud music on the beach, impossible to sleep at all, because we cant close window as it became too hot.

Our family stayed in Rannahotell for 3 nights in July 2010. We had a very small room at the 1st floor, with a beach view. No balcony. The room was so small, that with 1 extra bed for child there was no free space at the floor anymore. There was no air conditioning and the room was extremely hot.

The service at the hotel restaurant was very poor. We waited our dinner more than 1 hour, and there was only few other families in the restaurant at that time. When the food finally arrived, our child was too tired to even eat.

The hotel itself does not look like the advertisement pictures. Heavy photoshopping done to the advertisements probably. There is a roof terrace, but it was not open on July 2010 at all.

One night there was a very loud music coming from some beach bar, and it did last to 6AM. When complaining this to the reception, they said that this party happens few times a week, and it's something that has been approved by Pärnu town, and they cannot do anything about this. So please note that if you travel to Rannahotell during summer. No sleep during those nights.

The only good thing with Rannahotell was the location. The beach is incredible.

I was looking for a nice hotel in Parnu and found this one on Tripadvisor. I got a great deal on 2 rooms and when we got to the hotel we paid a tiny bit more for rooms with a beach view, but it was well worth it. When we arrived, the reception desk was helpful and friendly (I never expect either so I was pleasantly surprised) and everyone I encounted at the reception desk throughout the weekend was really great. The hotel is right on the beautiful beach (a 30 second walk from the front door and you're there) and our rooms had balconies so we could sit out and see the water. The rooms were fine and a delicious breakfast is included... I have had my share of mediocre free breakfasts but this one is outstanding and the dining room also has a nice view of the beach. It is a short walk to a big indoor water park, which is part of another hotel, but I am glad we stayed at the Scandic Rannahotell and I will definitely stay there again on any future visits to Parnu.
