...but not cheaper.
My wife and me were travelling home from Russia by car, and made a stopover in Vilnius.
Location: the hotel is rather centrally located, in a 10 minutes walking distance to the center of the old town.
Parking: we felt our car safe as the parking lot was situated in an inside yard. Unfortunately this made it pretty difficult for us to find the place.
The room: the room is what you pay for. It's a little bit smelly, and makes in general not the freshest impression. Neither does the general state of the hotel which maybe therefore calls itself a guesthouse.
The breakfast: the strongest point of the hotel. The breakfast buffet is prepared in a little, tiny room and the coffee as well as the tea are freshly prepared on request. Although the buffet was little, there was everything and of a good quality. Top!
The staff: also a very strong point of the hotel. Friendly, englishspeaking and helpful.
Consequence: For a stopover we would stay there again as it fulfilled all our needs. And certainly the price of 40 Euro / night couldn't be beat. However, we wouldn't recommend it if planning a longer stay in Vilnius.

I paid just over 20 euros a night for this hotel, and even though i was in the unrenovated part is was fine for an independent traveller. only 10mins walk to the old town and has a very large supermarket just down the street. breakfast is good, they see to your personal needs. i would definately recommed this.

The Telecom Guesthouse is a great place to stay in Vilnius. I booked the room for 4 nights at a half-off special and ended up paying about $40 a night for a two-room suite, including an enormous bed, sitting area, fridge, cable TV, and high-speed Internet connection. Very comfortable and clean room and incredibly helpful staff. It's walking distance to the old city. I'd highly recommend it to anyone!

Good clean hotel/guest house, friendly and helpful staff. A place where Lithuanians stay when visiting Vilnius. If you want a big, bustling hotel organising tours and with lots of facilities - this is not for you. If you want one which is quiet, within a reasonable walk of the old town with nice, friendly service then this is for you. It is good value, clean and we would go here again for certain - the walk down to the old town is probably about 10 minutes, more if you are strolling but its not difficult. The walk to the bus and railway station is about 15 minutes and again not difficult.
