After reflecting on my experience at Telcom Guest, I am happy to acknowledge the positives i.e. good value for money with one exceptions, good location and working fridge and bathroom. However, th exception proved to be the one issue that defined my stay there, and hence it led to me rating the hotel lower than I would normally rate any bad experience. I had ordered a double bed. As I was trying to catch up with all the day's activities, I only went to bed late only to discover that despite asking for a double bed, my bed was covered by a single duvet i.e. the type that covers an average midget, rather than a 120kg man. The fact that there were two of us (hence double. we had learnt that two single bed next to each other were a disaster for both of us) makes the single midget duvet even worrying. I had earlier seen the card advertising 50LT for extra bedding, but I thought this was more applicable in winter and only for people who did not feel a double duvet was adequate. By morning, I was very angry and cranky and notified the hotel receptionist, who suggested that this was the norm in the hotel i.e. even if you book a double bed, you get a single duvet, which is not even enough for one person. While I am prone to save my pennies when I travel, sleeping arrangements are non-negotiable (after, all, that is what a hotel room is there to do). Had the hotel quoted me a room rate which already include the 3euros for the blanket, I would have still chosen them. Yes, it would have put them in competition with two other establishments, but false representation should not be acceptable at a 3 star facility
