This is a strange place: it has all the elements of a good hotel, but only scores average. This is a kind of last resort business hotel or one that is ideal if you take long day trips.

It looks nice from the outside, next to a small square. But around the corner, like 100 meter down the road, is where the prostitutes roam the streets. You'll notice the braking cars.

On the inside you can see the place was updated, but in a very 70's way. The lobby is big and has comfortable, but worn couches. There is a bar (hidden behind a pillar) with a limited choice of food. Next to that is a big room with glass ceiling which houses the breakfast and in the evening the restaurant. Breakfast is mediocre, through the eggs are great and there is quite some choice. Nothing exciting there.

There is only 1 elevator for five floors and the fifth floor you can only reach by walking the steps between the fourth and the fifth floor. The rooms are clean and mine was tiny and in the attic. There is a sachet of shampoo and a bar of soap. With all the security hassle at airports, why don't hotels provide good care products since you can't bring a lot of that stuff? Especially since you sweat a lot at night under the synthetic fabric sheets and pillows.

Oh, and there is free wifi. Fast enough for video conferencing and without the hassle of logging in. Cool:)

We stayed here for 3 nights in September. Got a bus from the airport and walked to the hotel from the bus station. Which I would not recomend to others. Not far to walk but the area leaves a lot to be desired. It is dirty and run down, pavements were uneven & full of holes, especially not good for draging luggage. In a smal square only yards from the hotel down & outs gathered to drink on the benches.
So the hotel was a big surprise, An adequate 4 star hotel. The lobby was large & clean. The room was a good size & a very comfy bed. Bathroom was clean. On the down side the aircon was not very effective, there were no coffee making facilities & the room over looked a dirty grey apartment block which was just across a narrow street.
The included breakfast was standard European, not good for English & American. If you went down after 9am nothing seemed to be replenished so you got what was left! Even the coffee was cold. (Breakfast is served to 10am)
The staff ranged form helpful to impatient & surly. They did speak English.

A very nice and clean hotel very conveniently located half way between the train station and the old town (there is a train to the airport). Good value for money.
The missing 5th dot in the rating is because of the suspicion that the stomach bug I caught on the last day of our stay might have been from the herring that was served at room temperature at breakfast.

The Good: Very helpful staff, very clean rooms, conveniently located between the bus and train stations and the old city.

The Bad: The free Wifi didn't reach the fourth floor.
