Management and Staff
On arrival the receptionist was quite friendly and treated us correct. The check in went without problems. Payment by card was possible and went correct and without problems. We were allways received correct and friendly by the reception staff.
The people who have to take care of the breakfast and the cleaning of the bedroom made some mistakes though. For example they once forgot to "clean" the room and make up the bed they also forgot to change the towels that day, they simply didn't even enter the room. In general, they didn't clean the room at all though, during the 6 days we stayed. Another day they forgot to put toilet paper. Both inconvenient situations got solved though with simply reporting the problem to the receptionist.
The lady "taking care" of the breakfast was simply impolite and seemed as if she prefered not to be there working. If I'm honest I'd have prefered her not to be there either, it'd probably have improved both her and my situation.
The last day we stayed another lady was in charge of the breakfast, she was even worse. She put us together with some impolite and bad mannered people on one table, because there was no more space in the breakfastroom.
Location
The location of the hotel is convenient, it's close to the bus - and railway station and close to the old town. You can reach the busstation as well the railwaystation in just a 5 minutes walk. The center of old town can also be reached in just 5 minutes by foot. Around the corner of the hotel there's a supermarket named "Maxima". But that's the only positive about the location of the hotel, because it's located in a typical environment for station neighbourhood. It's simply ugly around, full of weird people, making noise, scolding each other. Occasionaly you find a drunk guy or a prostitute-like girl around.
Bedrooms
The room we stayed in had that typical Sovjet Army Base look, I have no other way to describe the looks with dark-grey (and not so clean) carpet, brown curtains, pale yellow walls and dark sky blue doors. The bed was okay to sleep in, there was a desk and chair, a closet and a tv, wich I didn't turn on. The bathroom urgently needed to be cleaned thoroughly, mainly the shower. The shower had a huge stain. On the borders it was full of black stuff which suspiciously much looked like mushroom.
Food
The breakfast was just fine, nothing special, but eatable. There were two kinds of bread (dark and light) toasts (eventhough the last day toasts were not even offered), some kind of typical sausage, cheese, cucumber, jam, butter, juice, yogurt, and the choise between tea and instant coffee. It's not the greatest breakfast ever, but it could have been worse.
Services
The hotel doesn't have internet access. When we asked for advise about where we could print our boarding passes, they sent us to a partner hotel in the neighbourhood, though we prefered to go to an internet cafe.
Conclusion
The hotel was really cheap, but despite the price we got really disappointed about the hygiene of the room. Cleanliness doesn't have to be necessarily expensive, so you can run a budget hotel and still have it clean.
Also the rude staff of the breakfastroom was something that was not a positive experience. If they don't like to be there, they'd better look for another job and do the guests the favor of having a friendly person around in the morning.
The hotel has about 25 rooms and still the breakfastroom has only 3 tables with 4 chairs each, because of that you get sometimes put with total strangers. All this makes that I see this "Two Star Hotel" more like a hostel with private bathroom, it'd be a more correct description of what it is.
