We stayed here for three nights. The hotel was located on a side street away from the main street. Not five minutes away was a walking bridge that brought you right to the main walking street which would take you to the beach but which had lots of restaurants and cafes and different shops and stalls. The room was small but immaculate and bathroom tiled and modern. We had a small balcony. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast buffet was excellent. It's a small, comfortable hotel, not glitzy or elegant but great location.

We spent 5 nights in the Alanga as part of a Baltic trip with my family.

The receptionists were friendly, the food was good in the evening we ate there, and the suite rooms with kitchen were ideal for families with 2 children and good value.

Also thought the location was good as not on the main strip but close enough and only 10 minutes from the beach.

I've read some of the other reviews and if people book through a tour operator, in our case, balticholidays.com , then if there are any problems they'll sort them out for you.

Overall we enjoyed our stay and for good 3 star accomodation with a family I would recommend it.

Attending a family wedding in the area i booked this hotel for over 23 people room by room and had all comfirmations for all of the booking . all was set for an enjoyable holiday .Alas nothing could be more from the truth for me and my family. Arriving at hotel alanga on 31july 2008 - 19 people handed in there comfirmation letters for there bookings and duly got there rooms allocated to them . i handed in our comfirmation and there seem to be a problem the hotel had no reservation for me on this date but had for the 1st of aug . Strange i thought as i had organised all of the accommadation for all the people that had only booked in before me. Files were checked by the hotel manager and her assistant and no record of the accommadation could be found for this date even do i have the print out of the comformation letter in my hand that was sent to me by the hotel . an arrangement was made that alternative accomm would be made for the night in an apartment across from the hotel and that we would be allocated our hotel room on the following day . Snag 1 apartment would not be ready for 2 hours so we decided to walk around to kill the time . arriving back at the hotel 2 hours later the apartment was still not ready . How long does it take to clean an apartment for 4 people for one night ? Eventually we were escorted to the apartment by the hotel manager upon entering it looked nice but then the problems started . the apartment was for 5 nights as the person that owned it would not rent it for 1 night . I refused to take the apartment as i was coming to the conclusion that there was a major blunder made by the hotel and this was the cover up . I returned to the hotel not in a very happy mood after a lot of argueing and shouting with the manager she seem to loose her english very fast . Then the lies started to come first they had accommadation for us on the 1st of august then they had no record of it they had credit card details then they had none then they had sold the room to some one else while we were waiting for the apartment to be cleaned . As one of our party was a native of the area we were able to communicate with the manager . In the end the hotel had no accommadation for my family . With 1 child in tears and 2 people very upset at the lies and lies the manager tried to tell to get out of the problem and a copy of the comfirmation letter on the desk we still had no accommadation . No help was given to us by the hotel as to where to get accommadation in the area we were on our own with no place to stay. at the end of the day i would not recommend this hotel for a holiday in fact i would say the manager of the hotel was rude in dealing with people does not know how to run a hotel and if she treats all customers like that the hotel will not last long . I would not rate this hotel even on a scale of 0 to minus 10. If anyone who read s this wants to see the comfirmation from the hotel i will be more than happy to send u a copy via e mail just to prove this is not a tail. this is the worst experience i have ever had on holidays .

A nice hotel, close to town but not to close as the town/beach is noisy in the evening/night.
Nice rooms with balcony, very clean and a nice bathroom. The rooms are a bit small though.
A room without breakfast is 160 LTL a night.
