“Kungis Inn, the good blend of location and value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 September 2008

I'd had concerns about a property that boasts both beachside location and proximity to the airport. Turns out the flight path is far enough to leave only the noise of the sea to be heard in the room.
A little secret: the farther you get away from Kungis Inn and Medusa towards the pier and the nearby entertainment district, the more muscle it takes to fight for a space on the beach.
Important: there are some six stairs to climb up to reach the entrance. I can imagine myself climbing those stairs after an athletic trauma I endured some two years ago. So beware if you rely on clutches - or read the fine print!
Kungis Inn gets my good rating for what I got considering what I paid.

The position was exellent and the hotel is really cosy. We had really good time with our dogs. I hope this is the place we are going to stay every year during the Palanga dog show.

“A Great Place to Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2007

Kungis Inn is a kind, clean place to stay, just as others have mentioned, a little off main Palanga strip, and that's a true blessing! The hotel is just across a country road from a stunning forest, a short walk through which are those lovely Lithuanian sand dunes and a serene part of the Baltic coast. This is an ideal place for those looking less to party, and more to have a quiet rest, a warm greeting, a self-catered family vacation, or a communing with nature. Kungis Inn was really a treat, and the owners go out of their way to ensure comfort and privacy. Kungis is a lucky find!

“Kungis Inn; great guest house near beautiful beach!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2006

KUNGIS Inn is a reasonably priced, very comfortable and cozy guest house with a very attentive and friendly staff, about 5 km away from the highly active, downtown Palanga, LT day and nightlife, making it a quiet and wonderful lodging experience, a short drive away from the bustling nightlife of Palanga, which is also incredible when you desire to go.

Great supermarket stores, IKI and MAXIMA are a short drive away, fully stocked with everything you may want. Practically every place takes MasterCard and VISA Credit/Debit Cards, including the gas stations and restaurants, otherwise use Lithuanian Litas. Currency exchange places and banks abound, with red LED digital displays of the current day's international currency exchange rates. $1. USD = 2.70 Litas, approximately,
so you get a lot more for your money than in other countries in Europe.

Some great restaurants in Palanga and Klaipeda (and elswhere in Lithuania) are: Felix, Cili Pica (near beginning of Palanga Pier), and Cili Kaimas (Klaipeda), among others.

Klaipeda, the port city, is also a half hour or so drive away, which is also wonderful to visit.

You can take a 10 minute ferry to the peninsula out of Klaipeda, and drive down through beautiful pine forested road to towns of Juodkrante and Nida, which have beautiful sand dunes, and
wonderful restaurants, etc.

KUNGIS Inn is a short, beautiful walk through a gorgeous pine forest to a sugar white, super fine sand beach, which is very relaxing with beautiful sunsets! Great jogging and/or walking, with little changing booths for privacy when getting in or out of bathing suits, all along the beach. Great sunbathing as well !

A 20 minute walk down the beach toward the famous Plalanga Pier, gets you to an on the beach SAUNA, JET SKI, WATER FLOATS, and other rentals available. Beer and Ice Cream, on the beach, mini booths are available also, within a short walk in either direction.

There is also a small freshwater, beautiful swimming lake, also a short walk or drive nearby, plus many other attractions the Kungis staff can recommend. They are so nice and very helpful in accomodating your desires, to make your stay even more wonderful !

Two small stores are a short walk away, which always have good ice cream treats, etc. Bicycle rentals are also available nearby. There is a dedicated, paved bicycle road, where you can cruise amoung the pine tree forest in safety, away from automobile traffic, and parallel to the Baltic Sea beach shoreline.

Partner, Cafe Meduza, a 10 minute walk away serves an awesome Swedish style buffet breakfast, 7 days per week, at a very reasonable price for individuals and families, with discount for young children.

High speed Internet access in the rooms is a big plus, so you can get some personal business matters done when needed.
The BOTH 110 volt USA style electrical outlets AND 220 volt European electrical outlets in the rooms are another big plus for travelers, especially from the USA. Phones are in rooms also, as is a refrigeratror, electric tea pot, table, etc.

The staff will provide you with charcoal, grill, and tools, for a wonderful and delicious barbeque experience, outside your room, on the balcony.

KUNGIS Inn is a must stay, and re-visit experience! Most highly recommended. We definitely want to come back again soon !!!
Bring and use your camera for many beautiful photos!

“Okay plus, thumbs up”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 June 2006

Kungis Inn is a rare place in Palanga that hasn't lost touch when
pricing
its rooms. Room amenities are same or better than what I usually get at
mid-range properties wherever I travel.
I booked Kungis Inn for the amenity they both advertise and have - both
American 110 Volt and European 220 Volt power outlets. The hassle of
matching power adapters for laptop and cell phone chargers was
eliminated.
It was my business trip, and I got what I needed - free in-room
internet
access. Used to stroll around in foggy May mornings, took some photos of
surroundings.
Staff is great, goes an extra mile without having to beg and demand
beforehand.
Thumbs up to Kungis, just keep at it.
