stayed here for 4 nights in june 2011. had a problem accessing hotel, as front door is kept locked. rang on doorbell for a very long time before asking 2 young girls using the courtyard for a lunch time smoke, if they would mind ringing the hotel for me. it turned out doorbell wasnt working, so all the doorbell ringing was falling on deaf ears! once checked in, i was given a front door key, so acess was never a problem again. hotel is very central, right in the heart of the old town.my room was clean, spacious and equipped with phone, tv and a very comfortable bed.restaurant is now closed, apart from serving an ample breakfast, but this hardly matters, as hotel is within a stones throw of several eateries. there appear to be no staff on duty overnight, but this isnt a problem, as guests have the front door key and can come and go as they please. staff are very pleasant and helpful, when they are on duty and the hotel itself is full of charm and character, manager even wears a suit on sundays!! i would definitely stay in this hotel, if i ever returned to kaunas, but next time i would cotton on faster that the bell was faulty!!!
