This brand new hotel is one of the best in Kosice. The rooms are nice, as Doubletree standard. It had a lot of amenities, lot of pillows, and covers. The breakfast was rich, warm and staff nice. Only trouble was, that the whole hotel was a little bit cold, but the rest was fine. The reception promised me a welcome gift (a small warm cookie, as I learned from the rest of the group), but never came to my room. The room rates are higher, than man would expect in a small city like Kosice, but as the competition is rather small, it is a good value for the money at that location.

Very nice hotel and very American/western European. It is the only modern building in the downtown and certainly the only modern hotel in the city center. It is not a 5 star nor do they try to pretend it is but it is a very good hotel and the decor and appointments are well done. It is in a modern style that is quite "in" but that may not please those looking for a cozy warm style. Location is very good and all the attractions on a very nice mall are right there such as the Cathedral and chapel, outdoor restaurants and other historic buildings. transportation via bus or tram is righ at at the door. The restaurant was very good and may have exceeded the hotel itself. Pricey! The room is very complete and very well done. Nice view over the city. Street noise at the 6th floor was nil. This is a good hotel particularly if you are American or western European and if you do not need a 5 star hotel.

New, trendy hotel with very pleasant, helpful, friendly, good-looking and professional staff. Location of the hotel is great - on the high street in the beggining of the historical square. Rooms are well equipped with nice & comfortable furniture. Although room was situated to the main square, there was no big noise from outside. Breakfast was OK, nothing special, but delicious. Maybe there could be some tables with more privacy - all tables are in one big open space. After check-in you receive fresh cookie. Fitness is rather small but when the hotel is not full, it's fine.

I stayed at the Doubletree Kosice over a weekend with my wife and year-old daughter. The Doubletree is a stone's throw from the main hlavna and is very convenient to churches, shops, eateries, and public transportation (came by train). The staff was professional, easy going in nature, and always willing to address your issues, and/or answer your questions, make recommendations for the local sights, not to mention the warm chocolate chip cookies at check-in! I have found that speaking a few phrases of the local language goes a long way in enhancing your experiences. Wireless and internet access was spot-on and the buffet is plentiful. SInce I have elite status in the Hilton program, my comments may be a bit biased, as we didn't have to pay for the internet access charge or the buffet like other reviewers. Rooms are contemporary in style and has most of the amenities of any hotel in the Hilton chain, including the colorful crib for our daughter. The staff is very accommodating, especially if you need to use their kitchen to warm up baby's milk during the evenings. The fitness area in the basement area is a bit on the small side with a few weights, plastic balls, treadmill, etc. I'm used to this when I travel, however, for those of you who travel occasionally, you may find it a bit claustrophobic. Sauna area slightly larger with communal showers. Would definitely stay here again in the future.
