I agree with other reviewers that this is a good three-star rather than a four-star, but at 67 euros per night for a double over the New Year holiday, I still felt it was good value.
The location is perfect - easy to find, and a short walk to the centre or the bus station. And there's a Billa supermarket opposite which is useful.
Staff are very friendly, polite and helpful. The whole place seems to have been fairly recently renovated - everything's clean and new. The bathroom was modern and well fitted. The wardrobe was large, and in an alcove with plenty of space for suitcases.
Wi-fi is fast and reliable (easily good enough for Skype calls).
Breakfast is very good for a hotel in this price range - sausage, egg, cheese, good coffee, and plenty more.
On the downside - the window opened onto a grey courtyard, so a somewhat depressing view. When we checked in there were two towels each. On the first morning the cleaners stopped by, didn't vacuum the carpet or clean the bathroom, but did take away two of the four towels. That's incredibly careless and annoying, almost enough for me to knock one point off out of four.
But overall I was happy with my stay here.
There's a very large gap in what you get for your euros here in Bratislava, and across the border in Vienna (45 minutes' drive away) - I paid about the same in Vienna but had to accept a huge drop in quality.
