“Central, clean, reasonably priced”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

I agree with other reviewers that this is a good three-star rather than a four-star, but at 67 euros per night for a double over the New Year holiday, I still felt it was good value.

The location is perfect - easy to find, and a short walk to the centre or the bus station. And there's a Billa supermarket opposite which is useful.

Staff are very friendly, polite and helpful. The whole place seems to have been fairly recently renovated - everything's clean and new. The bathroom was modern and well fitted. The wardrobe was large, and in an alcove with plenty of space for suitcases.

Wi-fi is fast and reliable (easily good enough for Skype calls).

Breakfast is very good for a hotel in this price range - sausage, egg, cheese, good coffee, and plenty more.

On the downside - the window opened onto a grey courtyard, so a somewhat depressing view. When we checked in there were two towels each. On the first morning the cleaners stopped by, didn't vacuum the carpet or clean the bathroom, but did take away two of the four towels. That's incredibly careless and annoying, almost enough for me to knock one point off out of four.

But overall I was happy with my stay here.

There's a very large gap in what you get for your euros here in Bratislava, and across the border in Vienna (45 minutes' drive away) - I paid about the same in Vienna but had to accept a huge drop in quality.

“Exceeded expectations”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

I was pleasantly surprised when I stayed at this hotel a few days ago. My expectations were low, as the hotel had to fulfil a number of criteria i.e. 3 in a room, close to old town etc. However I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is a bit austere - however, the staff were very helpful, the rooms were extremely large and spacious as was the bathroom. The breakfast was delicious and generous. I will stay here again when I go back in 6 months time.

“Great Hotel with Good Breakfast and Good Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

I have been reading some reviews about this hotel before I stayed there and knew what I would expect. I was suprised. If you are with a car then this hotel is brilliant with its own private parking. Hotel is spacious, rooms are large with a funny red light in the bathroom. Great sleep overlooking Bratislava. I was in room 511. There was the vent in the bathroom that didn't shut down. So if you are annoyed by noise then don't sleep in this room. Breakfast was GOOD! Scrambled eggs, sausages and baked eggs. Enough choice for bread. Couple of different cheesed and hams. Breakfast improved lots regarding previous reviews. 10 min walk to the old town centre.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor facing the front. Nice view of the city!

“OK hotel in the centre”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

First of all, in my opinion the hotel is not 4 star (rather 3 star). Maybe it was 4 star when build...

Anyway, it is not a bad choice:
- Central location close to the old town
- Free wifi
- Nice staff
- Basic rooms with flat screen TV, little old fashioned BUT CLEAN
- Parking available

Breakfast could improve a lot. Otherwise no complaints!
