I liked my stay at City Hostel.
The name Hostel is really a misnomer, as "hostel" usually implies some type of communal setting. There is none here - just a small reception with a computer.

But if you don't care about socializing with other travelers, this place is great.
I just needed a solid night's sleep. I was happy to have a comfortable bed in my own room with a good shower.
The rooms were clean, the staff was not bubbly but helpful all the same.
The location is excellent, right in the center of the old town.
The only thing that would have made it better would have been wifi

The location is good and the room we were in was newly done up and very clean and reasonably spacious. The only issue I had was finding the mattress very uncomfortable. However, I would say if you are looking for a cheap sleep in a good location then it is a safe bet.

I first stayed here in 2008 with a large group, 22-65 years old.

Based on my earlier experience I booked again to go with a different group of friends to celebrate a 30th birthday. Stll basic, but comfortable rooms. Powerful shower. Friendly 24hr reception. Good security (but am sure not foolproof). Free Internet access in reception area.

Hostel is a five minute walk from main town and on a street with good amenities.

Short bus journey from Airport (45 minutes / 1 change) for 50p. Change at the main station, and the trolley bus drops you straight outside the hostel. Google Bratislava /Slovakia public transport and you can view timetable and routes online in advance.

Our choice was a taxi for convenience Inbound Taxi journey is a rip off at £25 per cab (4 people). We took a cab back to airport with was only £15 per cab.

About 5 minutes away from the city center on foot. This hostel/hotel is located on a crowded street, with plenty of pubs nearby, but the rooms are very quiet.
The reception is open 24/7 which is very convenient. The rooms are very simple, but clean, and they have en suite bathrooms, so actually this is a hotel, not a hostel. Obviously no luxury here. There is a computer in the lobby where you can use the internet, but no breakfast is served.
My only real complaint is that the walls are very thin, so you hear whatever goes on in the other rooms.
This accomodation is fine if you are looking for something decent and inexpensive.
