Online reviews and Lonely Planet have been largely complimentary of this hotel however I would rate it as my worst hotel experience in Hungary. I think we were allocated a standard room but I would rate it at 2 star maximum. I suppose the furniture was modern (probably 1980s) but was not nice and the room was barely large enough for us to open our suitcases. The bathroom was also tiny and unrenovated with the Russian style hand held shower and tap flush toilet. The room was clean but my bed had small blood stains on the sheets which was disturbing.
The proximity to the centre of town will only be an advantage to those interested in joining celebrations as the noise from revellers and cigarette smoke came through our open window (necessary because of the lack of airconditioning) until at least 4am.
My one positive comment is that breakfast was good and plentiful.
There may be better rooms in the hotel but neither we or our travelling companions saw them. I would not recommend this hotel and would not stay there again.
