we payed 40€ for two people per room in this place and honestly it wasn't much to brag about it. The place is 3 km outside Siofok center, far enough for it to be necessary to take public transportation which goes once each hour, or by rip-off taxi (they cheat you, a short ride (3km) costs 2400-3000 Ft, but should cost 2000 - hungary is reknown for cheating taxis). The young people in the front desk are helpful and friendly and try to speak as much english as they can, but let's be honest, it is very basic. But again, they try to help and even do that little extra like calling a taxi for you. The breakfast was included in our trip and it is typical loaf, chesse, ham, serial with tea or milk, no coffee. Adequate for this kind of hostel.
The hostel is a short walk 5-10 min to lake balaton and close to a main party attraction the Palace. /cheap booze and young girls and guys (17ish)). Also a shop very close to it and a tivoli.
If your looking for cheap room and don't care about the looks of things then this is probably ok for you. You share a bathroom (where I never saw anyone) and toilet with the rest of the leve. The bed, although spartan, is surprisingly ok to sleep in. And don't be afraid of the bugs, the spider is actually not a pest and is helping you with that problem... And yes, it is of course dirty under the bed if you look.
If your going to party and lay on the "beach" and don't care about the condition of the room your sleeping in, then I guess this is ok. However, it is far from town, and if you pay pay 50€ (for two people in a room), eksl. breakfast, then you'll get your own room with toilet and bathroom, television and airconditioning 500 meters from the beach and in the middle of Siofok and all the attractions. And the room is nice and you feel clean. It is also quiet (surprisingly). You'll probably thank me if you go to Balaton Pension and breakfast instead (we did and we're so happy about it), but if money is really tight and you only want somewhere to sleep, then this is probably ok.
Also, in july, the temperature can be 34 degrees plus, and you should know that a room without AC can become hot if not opening a door.
