We arrived without any reservation in Siòfok and found a place in Touring Hotel. We were there for just a night. Our first impression was good, but as soon as we paid and saw the room we completely changed our minds. The room was surprisingly hot: from dawn till 3 PM the sun shined through a wall quite completely made of glass, which made the room seem like a greenhouse. There is no A/C in any room, and when I asked to the receptionist if he could kindly change my room as I was very ill, he answered that the hotel was completely booked. I could suppose that it was not true as several rooms were empty and open. It was so hot that I tried to sleep in the corridor. That night we couldn't sleep, and we had to leave the day after. Since every wall was very thin we could hear the noises and voices of who didn't respect the night silence (I woke up at half past four in the morning for this reason). The service is too basic compared to the prices: we paid €43 and we had no towels and the showers didn't work properly. The morning after we hoped in a nice breakfast (at least), but when we found out that it didn't include coffee, one of the basilar things in a breakfast, we were shocked. The atmosphere was everything but homely: the receptionist is cold and you can't exit the hotel with the room key, which you have to leave to the receptionist who gives you a ticket. When you come back to the hotel you can get your key back by returning the ticket. Moreover, the hotel is far from the city center and lake.
In other words: if you are staying in Siòfok for your holidays, or even if you are there for just a night, I suggest you to pay a couple of euros more and enjoy your staying somewhere else (for 5 euros more you can have an apartment close to the lake).
