The breakfasts drag the experience from probably 1 or 2 to 3, they are really good. Otherwise - if you get room 18 as we did on the first night, you will think you have died and gone to hell. We asked to be moved to a balcony room and we got one. Whilst this takes the standard to that of a good clean travel lodge style, it is not for the infirm as we have a series of stairs to climb to get there. We have gone for the "full package", 15 treatments at the Danubius resort and dinner. The treatment experience is excellent, although probably not to everyone's taste. English people might think they are going to have beauty treatments - so understand that's not what it is. It is medical massage, hydritherapy, that sort of thing. Watch out for naked people in the sauna (we don't like getting naked in public and stayed in our swimsuits - but others do not mind and at one point we found ourselves surrounded by a group of naked geriatrics) - not particularly uplifting (in fact slightly traumatic), but something we now laugh about.
The diinners at the Park Hotel are shipped in from a nearby restaurant. Whilst they are reasonably tasty and fill a hole, it is by no means a gourmet experiene. There is no wine list - we are a party of six and the hotel ran out of draught beer the first night (after we ordered four), and white wine the second night after we'd consumed two bottles. Despite speaking little English the staff are friendly and aim to please, and the hotel is very clean and functional. The walk to the Danubius is a short one. We stayed here rather than the Danubius as we are relatively young and were fearful of an abundance of nursing home clientele. We were right to think that, so this has been a good choice for us. Finally if you want a cup of tea beyond breakfast you will be disappointed. Make sure you take a travel kettle and tea bags as there are no tea/coffee making facilities!
