This is a 3 star hotel so has to be reviewed as such.

Communication when booking was excellent. Reception was fine...efficent, quick and friendly. Parking right outside the front door at 4 euro per night. Check in took only a few minutes and our room was lovely and unusual!

Unusual as it was a Carmilite Monastery and the signs of this are all around. Our room was on two levels with the double bed up on the mezzanine. Plenty of space to unwind and relax in the sitting area. Clean bathroom if a little dated. It does need looking at. The road and pavement are right outside the window but we experienced very little noise. Just once some young people came by a bit loud.

Wi fi is free but a bit weak in our room but sit out in the quiet corridor right outside the room and it was fine. We did not drink at the bar/cafe as there is just too many better ones in the town.

The location is perfect...right beside the walking area and all the shops/bars/restaurants.

Very good breakfast with all you would need and well presented with no rush or crowds.

All in all a very good stay with good value and we would return as we hope to in February.

Stayed here for two nights at the beginning of October.Our room was very basic and the bathroom quite small with a mould/mildew problem.As we were only there for two nights it wasnt a problem. Unfortunatly there was a karate championship on in the town and there were no other hotels available.Given the choice dont think we would stay here again.

I stay at this hotel by choice about five times a year. The staff have always been very friendly. I have never eaten dinner in the hotel as there are some lovely restaurants surrounding the square (watch the world go by with the new fountains and a glass or two of beer) and it all seems very laid back and Eastern European. When I plan my next visit to Gyor I will be disappointed if there are no vacancies.

It's an old Monastery transformed in a Hotel in downtown Gyor, a very charming city in Hungary. There is a small Fair beside the Hotel, where they sell everything, simple people from the country selling fruits, vegetables and more. Boys playng hungary songs in the streets ... just give them some coins!
