We stayed here during a Danube bike ride, and it was among the best of our hotels, primarily because the rooms were spacious and had an old-world charm. The lack of air conditioning was a problem because we were there during a heat wave, but they did have some fans. The hotel is very well located.

I expected more, the photos on their website are great and the promise is high. All in all, the whole building needs a lot of work, my room reminded me of my rented college accommodation.... very noisy, as well. After few minor problems, hotel management did nothing but explaining how it is all my fault.... would not be surprised if the director was some sort of waiter, because he did not show any skills at all, my complaint was never resolved.
Anyway, I could go on about it for months, bottom line: the town is full of nice B&Bs and hotels, do not risk your stay by booking Klastrom.

The hotel is located very centrally in Gyor and is a former monestary. The rooms also look like a monestary today, well renovated though. This is fine and there is nothing wrong with living in a spartanic hotel for a night or two, but the overall experience was disappointing. The bathroom looks like it comes straight from Hungary in the 1980s and has not been changed since. The hotel breakfast is also spartanic and very boring. Some dry bread with marmelade and cheese, that's it. The coffee is watery. The staff in the restaurant is incredible unfriendly and very very slow. We made the big mistake to eat at the reaturant at night. The food was fine, but the service was horrible. It took us an hour to get our food, still there were only two other tables to serve. The waiter (the man from the breakfast buffet as we discovered later) was extremely slow and did not even excuse the food being late. The staff in the reception was friendly and helpful though.

Overall a disappointing experience. If you have to stay at Klastrom take a good shower before you come and make sure you avoid the restaurant.

Terrible experience. Stay away. Noisy, unfriendly, ovepriced.
