We are regular visitors to Russia and on this trip we incorporated our first visit to Hungary. We have had no problems with theft UNTIL this trip. Just once, we left our wallet in the room, for a very short time and someone took 20,000Huf from it. This wasn't discovered until we were at the airport and attempting to convert currency. Resturant was expensive and over all we didn't think the hotel deserved 4 stars. Room was well appointed, bed creeked and the rooms were noisey (you could hear all normal conversations outside in the street as well as noise from next-door rooms), bathroom was large and well appointed - TV hopeless - the only English channel was CNN, and who in their right mind watches that! Resturant waiter looked like he didn't want you there, other staff were friendly and courteous . An expensive experience; we wouldn't return. We stayed in a beautifully appointed little hotel in the centre of Budapest - Hotel30 - Mini Panzio [-]- this was half the price of Hotel Panorama and better service all round - you need to carry your own bags though, so for some that may be a problem.
