We stayed 4 nights at Kapital Inn in late Sept. I picked Kapital Inn after careful research and it paid off in spades.
We came in by train from Vienna and after a few emails back and forth and taking in everything Albert said about how to get to the B&B we decided we could get there by using the metro. I used the map off Kapital Inn's website as well as getting hold of Budapest's rail lines on a website. We had no problem following the instructions and it took no more than 20 minutes from Keleti station. The underground is effeicient and fun to ride. You get off at Andrassy Blvd and its a matter of crossing the street and walking a block to Kapital Inn. I didn't even get to ring the bell as Albert was waiting for us as we had told him our approximate arrival. As said before, Albert then put both our duffle bags over his shoulders and up the 4 flights of stairs we went. Albert then shows you your room and explains which key is which etc. There is a laptop in the room for use, but we had our own and the wifi is super fast. The rooms are tastefully fitted and our bed was really nice to sleep in after a long day of exploring.
Albert shows you the rooftop terrace where you have breakfast and you have the huge tv and lounge sofa to sit on. Its peaceful and quiet up there. Albert keeps the kitchen stocked with fruit, breads, juices, soft drinks etc all for your use 24/7. When Albert was explaining what is where on the map he does so upside down. He's writing and drawing upside down like a Teppanyaki chef would do. He does this without mistakes. This is a skill!!!! Our questions were answered and with Albert's tips and knowledge about this beautiful city, you soon feel like its your city, too. The first afternoon we mainly wanted to find the money exchange and atm's which are just a few blocks away. The restaurants that Albert suggests are top notch. Nothing was super expensive and the alfresco dining that Albert suggests is spot on. We bought a Budapest card to help get around on the underground and the trams. Again, the tourist place isn't far away. Using the underground and trams are easy and really gets you to the Danube in any direction pretty quickly.
Albert also talked us into going to the Turkish Baths. We're glad he did. It is an easy 15 minute walk and was very relaxing. It is worth it.
Every morning we would talk with Albert and the other guests and we would feed off each other as to what we wanted to do or had done. This just made each day all the more fun to set out and explore after Albert's perfect eggs.
My wife wanted to do laundry and Albert did this for us at no charge. Ask for this at a hotel and you're going to be charged.
Our last day, Albert ordered the taxi to take us to the airport and its a fixed price. It makes you feel good that you aren't being ripped off which could easily happen. He also takes your luggage back down.
One last thing that isn't on Kapital Inn's website yet. Albert has put together a 2 1/2 minute video of Kapital Inn that you can find on youtube. Just type in Kapital Inn on youtube and turn your sound on and enjoy. What you see on this video is what you get with this incredible young man.
Albert, we wish you all the success in the world. Your generosity and hospitality are pure class.
