“Extremely clean, compact hotel. Good location, friendly service and great value.”

We stayed at the Atrium Hotel towards the end of January 2012. We found the hotel incredibly clean and well presented, all staff very friendly, helpful and very willing to accommodate. Reception staff were more than attentive and very informative. Location was great, a 20-25 minute walk to the river, and placed approx 10 minutes from a lively area for good value, trendy bars. All facilities in the hotel were way above standard, the only complaint we would make would be that there was no open windows or source of fresh air in the rooms, although the design of the building does not facilitate this, so can't be helped, and there is adequate air-con in our room so it really isn't a massive issue. We found the beds slightly uncomfortable, albeit very well sized, but on the whole the room was great. Breakfast was of good quality and there was a nice variety of dishes. We would definitely stay here again on returning to Budapest, and would highly recommend the hotel. Cannot praise enough the impeccable cleanliness of the place! Was a pleasure to stay here!

“Ok for a short stay”

I visited Budapest quite recently and found the Atrium Fashion Hotel ok for a short stay, the hotel was clean, rooms very small but I couldn't knock the cute little condiments that were in the bathroom. It was a place to put your head down each evening which was enough. In all honesty I just think that I was disappointed by Budapest as a place, the hotel was most certainly a safe haven, the road that the hotel is on is quite run down, the shop across the road is handy and sells cheap vodka about £5 a bottle, I would not suggest using the yellow metro line directly outside the hotel, it takes you to shanty towns, I feared for my life. to get around I would suggest using the number 4 and 6 trams which are on the main road to your left, you will see a H&M walk towards that. As a place there isn't much to do in Budapest I have to be honest, I was happy to leave. The hotel is ok though and we did feel safe here.

“The Atrium a Year Later”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

We visited Budapest about a year ago and liked the city and the hotel so much we have returned again this year. We stayed for 8 nights
“Pleasant warm rooms, modern airy dining room, convenient position.”
Convenient.
On arrival at Budapest Airport you can catch a train to Nyugati Station then a number 4 or 6 tram to Blaha Lujza stop. (Cost was about £5 in total although we have discovered since that over 65s travel everywhere and anywhere in Hungary on public transport FOR FREE!) This is very close to the Hotel. There is also a Metro Station here for access to the rest of Budapest although we walked everwhere from the Hotel. It takes about 20mins to walk to the Danube.
Comfortable Rooms
The outside temperature was around zero for the whole of our stay, but the rooms were lovely and warm. The spec of the rooms was good and they were modern and clean.
Good Food
The hotel only serves breakfast and I enjoyed them very much, so did my wife who is a vegetarian. The dining room was in the atrium which is very light and airy and contributed to a very pleasant experience
Pleasant Staff
The reception staff all spoke very good English and were helpful in all matters concerning the Hotel and the local area.
The approach to the hotel from Blaha Luija is a little gloomy and passes the entrance to a "Maintenance Study College"

“What a waste of ambiance.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I choose this Hotel because it was recommended by "The NY times" and so I was willing to try it. First impression was not that great. Staff was not hospitable and not welcoming at all! Very dry reception followed by a "couldn't care less" concierge.
The decor is what this Hotel has to offer. Very cool and creative ambiance combined with an eco-friendly touch by using external lighting as main source.
Even though we complained that our room A/C was not working and the door handle was broken they said they couldn't fix it or move us to another room.
Complimentary drinks were offered instead, which were refused (I don't want to drink, just to rest properly!).
This is a Hotel that I don't recommend to anyone simply because the way they treat people there. They had everything to be great, however we do know that
even if you have a first class product, this is nothing without a premium service and care.

“Better than expected!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

We stayed here for 2 nights. Having read a few recent reviews I was a bit worried, but the hotel is lovely and staff were very helpful. I'm a very light sleeper and tend to struggle in hotels, but our room was on the top floor and very quiet. The window looked onto the landing so we kept the curtains closed, but I didn't mind this and it made the room feel cosy. The bed was big and comfortable, the bathroom was clean with a radiator that came in handy for drying swimwear (after spa-session in the snow!) and a good shower. Breakfast was decent - hot and cold food, nice coffee, and served until 10.30am. Town was a 10-15 min walk away and we found plenty of places to eat/drink/shop. The staff helped out by ordering our taxi on the last day and storing our luggage after check-out so that we didn't have to haul it around. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would probably stay there again.

Room Tip: If you want a quiet night, request a room on the top floor
