-Good reception, nice staff. Good service in general. Hotel is a bit far from the city centre, but there is a tram station close to it and its service is good.

We battled to find a hotel that offered good value around the busy time we travelled so we stayed at Hungarest Hotel Griff. The hotel is VERY basic and we were a bit disappointed but it was good enough for the price. The hotel has free Wi-Fi (which was a bit slow) but the breakfast was excellent! It is a little out of the main sights, just take a tram (it is easy to navigate in the city and cheap) so there aren't many restaurants near by. We enjoyed the quietness of the neighbourhood (a different side of Budapest) and the staff were friendly, there was free parking outside. Didn't try the gym as it was closed on a Sunday morning we wanted to go, I think it only opens at 8am or so- that doesn't make sense for a gym.

very good 3* hotel that delivers what it offers,and more. by the way its also called the griff hotel. junior griff hotel next door is an extremely basic 1*hotel that is no better than a hostel.
we were lucky, we stayed in winter and got a rate of 50euro per room per night,what a bargain- -unbelievable.
ok,dont expect an english breakfast or a lie in ,they dont do that.be at brkf be4 9 am or they dont refill the buffet.
but if you want clean,well managed,semi friendly(because we could not discover friendly in this city) accom, then this is the place.
tram and bus right outside the door,very important when you are w/ending. great value evening meals,much cheaper than city center and high quality,quite a rarity in this city.
dont use taxis to go to or return to hotel as its quite a distance,and taxis could rip you off,unless u know how to cut a deal
treat yourself to a drink or a meal in the 4 seasons hotel 4 the views if u are loaded.
otherwise sit in the accor hotel bar (next door)and have beautiful views of the chain bridge,also very expensive by the way. walk 2 blocks down the river from here and everything is half the price of the previous mentioned hotels or indeed less. dont eat in the 100 year restaurant- food-grossly overpriced, only4 tourists
