“Atlas Hotel is a good value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2011

Stayed in this hotel 3 of us got 3 room and all were satisfied with the rate and rooms. In fall and winter had rate stay 3 nights get one night free. For East Europe decent hotel for the price. Cheap price some hotels in East Europe our outrageous. I read some people say area was Dodgy. We got real drunk couple of late late nights and no problems walking back from bar. Cannot not be Welsh guys that say it is Dodgy. Nothing worrys them first time partying with welsh men. Rooms are big and clean. Breakfast do not eat the sausage all fat but eggs and cereal and toast are okay. Sausage in Budapest in general is full of fat(surprise to me). As for area we are walkers and found it right in the middle between natural hot bath houses and the center. Short walk to main drag for trams etc(5 -10 minutes). Staff is pretty good in general . Lots people in the bar regular multicutural little party place.

“Adequate, good location, clean and a good deal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2010

I stayed for two nights with a friend a couple of days ago. Very adequate, clean room, location quite ok. Although the area is not posh at all, after all normal people have also to live somewhere I guess, I was quite ok with it. It is very near to the Keleti railway station and the Lujza Blaha metro stop is quite nearby. Reception staff was very helpful and for once I was glad indeed to follow their restaurant advice: Rosenstein was simply excellent and just a short walk away. Combining all with the good deal we got for the room price, I would definitely come again.

“Disapointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2010

At first glance the Hotel looked perfect, smart efficient staff, speaking good English offering great advice about the City and transport. Unfortunately we were not so impressed with the room. The walls in the room are extremely grubby resembling the inside of a factory canteen, the shower cubicle had no door and the shower had to held in your hand. Overall the room felt dirty.
Note also that there is a tram line outside the hotel and before morning you will know exactly how often the trams run, all night long.

“Dodgy area, low quality hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2010

The Atlas appears to be in a fairly dodgy neighbourhood, and it's surprising there's as little trouble around as there was. The hotel staff ignore their own "No smoking" signs and smoke inside in the hotel lobby. The restaurant thought replacing chicken with lamb was a good vegetarian option... er, sheep aren't vegetables, last I saw. Rooms were clean enough but in a poor state. Free wifi available, but only in the lobby.

“Ok hotel but if you want a decent breakfast and to be more central don't bother”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2010

Initially thought the hotel was in a 'dodgy' area but was actually ok even in the evenings. Did need to get the tube into the tourist areas so need to factor that in although it was only ever a couple of stops. Was really not impressed with breakfast at all as a vegetarian. They had no pastries or crossaints just breadrolls. There was a large selection of cold meats for meat eaters. The room was huge (and clean) which was a bonus as there was soo much space to dump our clothes. We did have to ask for extra pillows and they were delivered promptly. Staff were friendly.
