“Cheap but pretty unclean and off from the city.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2010

It took a long time say 90min for me to reach the hotel from the airport by airport shuttle bus. This hotel is situated out side the city and the nearest public transport is located 300m away from the hotel, which takes at least 15min to reach the city.

Even though the price was cheap and the room were clean, I found they were not sound proof. I can hear the walking sound as well as sound when people from other room talk loudly or watch TV, which affected my sleep. The other side of my room is the high way and I hear the sound of the vehicles the whole night.

The breakfast was good yet the plates and other cutlery's were pretty unclean. The consoling thing about this hotel are free high speed internet and friendly staff.

I would recommend this hotel, only when you do not get any other place to stay in Budapest.

“Stay away”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 July 2010

For the first and last time I booked a hotel without reading the reviews first. The booking site I used described the hotel as a well run, quiet, well located hotell. It is not.

The location is off, very off, we had a car which took us to the city center in 25minutes... This thanks to it's "central location" just next to the highway. Trafficnoise was terrible, on the upside it was constantly cars/motorcycles travelling outside the windows, which gave it an even loud background noise. However after 1 a.m. traffic was not so intense, only something passing by every 20-30 seconds which made it even worse since you were only wondering when the next car would pass.

In the small windows of calmness you could then hear all the dogs barking. Except from facing the highway, the hotell also faced the backside of a shopingmall. The backside of this shoppingmall was a waste dump attracting all the neighborhoods dogs in the night.

When I, due to exhaustion, managed to fall into some sort of slumber I was soon woken up by the policecars and ambulances passing by with the sirens on. And, as if that was not enough, the cockroach passing over my pillow made me stay awake for the rest of the night.

Just "for fun" we decided to have a look at the breakfast. By the look of it they don't expect people to eat there at all. We decided to have a cup of coffe, but realised our misstake and left.

The problem with this place is not the location (you can always put in soundsilencing windows). The problem is that the owner(s) does not even try to make it a good stay. For instance, wherever you go in Hungary you're greated by a "Jo napot kivanok". In this place not. If there were some cleaning, it was really badly done. Broken furniture, naked light bulbs, the 70's carpets etc. all add to the handbook of how to not run a Hotell.

The only positive thing I can think of was that it had a free wifi, that made it possible for us to book another hotell at 2.30 a.m. We had paid for two nights in advance, stayed one. Never coming back. If this was the only available hotell in all of Budapest you're probably better off sleeping on a bench in a park.

“Never coming back to this hotel.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2009

My mobile phone got stolen the first morning we were staying with two of my friends, someone just came and took it when we were sleeping, pretty sure it was one of the cleaners. When I asked about it many times, they just got mad and yelled at me in hungarian which I do not understand.
They cleaners also kept moving our personal belongings anyway they wanted to, without respect.
The last day we were leaving, they gave us a bill that someone had ordered coke and nachos to our room's bill, none of us had.
May I say more?

“Nice place to stay in Budapest”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 July 2007

Very good location and quiet neighborhood. Cora and Aushan supermarkets are close by for any food shopping. Prices in the area are a little high but reasonable for the city (2L bottle of Coke is 429ft approx.1Euro, for comparison and the Hungarian Dreher beer is 400ft for 0.5l bottle). Rooms are clean, the restaurant is very nice as well. Got cable TV in the room, BUT not AC. Twin bed room is 45 Euro. I will stay here again for sure, next time I come to Budapest. Staff is very friendly and speaks English very well.

  • Liked — Friendly staff, and free internet with WiFi.
  • Disliked — Cable TV stoped working at arround 10PM, no AC in the room.
