Clean and very warm hotel. Staff very friendly and helpfull. The food is very local and great.
The hotel is far away from the centre of Budapest (about 30 mins) and is right in the middle of a very run down part of the outskirts of the city. We did not feel safe at all. Intimidating groups of locals congregated nearby seeming to watch our every move.
The hotel itself was at best what you would expect from a 2 star hotel, despite being advertised as a 4 star because it could tick boxes such as having a mini-bar and a shower it is not what you would expect! We were handed a remote control at reception for the TV in the room! The photos of the hotel should act as a warning because there are no pictures of the bedrooms. There is no safe in the rooms and the room door showed evidence of having been forced open and shoddily repaired. The wall paper, circa 1974, was peeling from the walls and the radiator was old and looked dangerous. The entire toilet/shower was well past it's best needing a complete refurb. The beds were small and soft with minimal bedding looking more like a hostel than 4 star room. The lifts were very old with a distinct feel of the old soviet era with it's mechanical starkness.
We could not get out of the hotel fast enough! Booked into another 4 star hotel in the city centre which was fantastic and at the same price despite being Night and Day by comparison.
In conclusion - we have stayed in many hotels around the world and this is by far the worst one yet!
Stayed here recently. Thuis hotel is very basic, although the beds are reasonably comfortable. Room small with cramped bathroom/toilet which always smelled foul! Colleagues had cockroaches in their room! Food was awful especially the breakfasts which appeared to consist largely of left-overs from dinner the previous night!
This hotel is desperately in need of a makeover in every respect! Management need to realise that this is post-Communist 2007!
stayed here for 2 nights as part of a bus tour by travelsphere.
the hotel was ok bar and restuarant fine, staff a bit miserable, barman waiters and waiteresses seemed unable to raise a smile, but the 2 guys on reception were good jolly guys.
the room was clean and tidy but the 2 supposed single beds were just like little sofa's with a thin mattress laid on and a quilt over attached to opposite walls with chipbord panels on the ends joining onto like an office style desk and wall unit, making it very difficult to lay out straight,as i am 6' 1" tall.
the whole building looked like an old building conversion, not done very well, probably left from the communist era.
