“Charming Location, Friendly Staff, Great Buffet Breakfast, WiFi, Transport Links”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2011

This place was a little out of the city centre but after a few days I realised that the area in general was where all the affluent people lived so that is peace of mind in its self. We had a room right on the top floor with a balcony at the front of the hotel so you could spy on who is coming in and out of the hotel. The hotel looks small but they also have a building 2 doors down for further accommodation. The restaurant of the hotel is a 2 buildings away (2 minutes walk) and its brilliant. It is between 7 and 10am and they have everything. Eggs, Toast, mini sausages, jam, cereal, tea, coffee, juice, bread, rolls fruit etc. You can eat till your heart contents.

There is free WiFi in the rooms, a small mini bar fridge. We took out everything from the fridge and stored our own stuff in it. :)

There is a garden at the back of the hotel too but I doubt anyone uses that as they are busy exploring Budapest. The bus stop is right outside or you have to walk 15 minutes to get to the nearest tram stop. It's wasnt tough. I planned all my journeys on www.bkv.hu so I had a map of where to go with times etc. It took a while to do this but it was so worth it. Made travelling to the places we needed to go much easier.

The hotel staff were really nice too. Very friendly and accommodating despite their lack of fluent english.

The hotel has a smal sauna room but you will need to tell them an hour before that you want to use it so they can switch it on. There is also a lot of mini cards at reception where you can get discounts to lots of attractions.

If you decide to get the Budapest Card for travelling, the card itself also offers many discounts.

although it's a nice hotel its not very clean, however the staff is VERY VERY helpful and polite. also the meals and the breakfast was quite simple.
the place which the hotel is located its far from the city but its defenetly a nice neighborhood.
In order to get to the hotel from the ferihegy airport you have to take the blue metro and then stop at the deak ter and take the red metro. finally you get off the metro at the moskva ter and take the tram 59 to get you to the last stop witch is marton aron ter vigalomash. as soon as you get off the train at your left you will see sasadi ut. you can go on foot or take the bus 53 to get you to nagiszalonta koz which is opposite the hotel.

i really hope you fine the directions very useful..

“Nice neighbourhood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 May 2010

We stayed here during F1 Grand Prix in August 2008 with a large group of people and overall experience was positive. Our room was on the 2nd building (restaurant downstairs) and it was clean, spacious and comfortable with a nice balcony overlooking the garden. Make sure your room has air-conditioning and its facing the garden, otherwise it will be pure nightmare due to heatness!

Breakfast was good and we also ate a few dinners at the restaurant. Food was great and affordable.

Hotel is located in a residental area and there's a tram stop after a short walk up to the hill, also a bus stop next to the hotel. Supermarket was nearby.

“Exceeded all expectations!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 April 2010

What a gem! The rate was so reasonable that I wasn't expecting much at all.
On arrival I was greeted by a very pleasant woman who spoke excellent English. (in fact, throughout my stay, everyone I met there was really nice). Another helpful young lady showed me to my room in an adjacent building. I held my breath when I opened the door, expecting the worse. But it was lovely! A comfy king sized bed, ensuite shower room, minibar/fridge, tv, balcony and free wi-fi. No tea/coffee making facility in room though - I'm told this is also the case even in the top hotels in Budapest :-(
The hotel's restaurant offers a good self service breakfast, included in the price, and evening meals. It was in my building so guests staying in the main hotel had a very short walk, but no-one minded. I had four meals in the restaurant; they were good, and French onion soup was one of the nicest I've tasted. Dinner costs around £12-15
(€17) for two courses with wine.. The restaurant had the radio on all the time, playing the Hungarian equivalent to Radio One. :-(. In the main hotel however they played excellent music, from An iPod loaded with a great selection of top rock, blues, jazz, pop and other fab sounds.
The hotel is in Buda, on the other side of the river to Pest. It took a couple of bus rides, or a bus and a tram, to get to Pest but public transport is very efficient and I found the journeys interesting. Make sure you have a valid travel ticket though - available from the hotel, metro stations or tourist information.
To stay at the Hotel Korona, check out any internet deals for the best rate - I used octopus travel.
Highly recommended hotel.

“They took care of our every anniversary need...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2010

This was a surprise anniversary trip for my girlfriend and after learning that Korona Panzio made sure our weekend was unforgettable. They really know how to go above and beyond what is expected and then some. I will never even consider staying anywhere else in Budapest. The restaurant was fantastic, though I forgot to try one of their pickles, and the room they gave us was GORGEOUS. Sure it is a little out of town, but with the transportation it was never really a problem and we got to see some things we would have missed staying in the city.

Simply put, this is the hotel to stay at. Period.
