The room itself was pretty nice, large, with two very basic single beds, a useful mini-fridge, and lots of tall windows. The bathroom was tiny; you could barely turn around in the shower, but it was clean and functional. It was nice to have a computer with Internet in the lobby, but you have to fight all of the other residents to use it. Luckily there are Internet cafes nearby. Breakfast is decent, with sausages, toast (the bread is hidden in a basket), and cold cereals. Few people sit outside on the nice outdoor patio tables.
The Snoopy-loving owner was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately, there were some bad issues that made me miserable during my stay.
--First, many of the rooms overlook the courtyard of the neighbors' residence. It looks like it might be a shared residence by college kids. The courtyard is filled with trash and a dilapidated shack. At all hours of the day there are noisy gatherings. Late into the night they blared dance music, complete with disco lights. Closing the windows helped keep out the noise, but not enough. The owner was helpful and had to call the police twice to make them turn their music down.
--Closing the windows made the room really stuffy. There is an air-conditioning unit, but it's either off or blizzard. I couldn't figure out an in-between setting.
--The pillows and comforters are gross. They look like they were purchased in the 1970s and are tattered and grimy. I doubt they get laundered. The comforter had the distinct smell of powdered carpet deodorizer, which they probably sprinkle on instead of washing them. The deodorizer set off my allergies, aside from being really gross.
