Super excellent breakfast! (The waiters could ask about coffee/tea a bit faster though) They will make you any omelet with no extra charge.

Service is flawless.
The reception will help you with anything. I have seen that other visitors have called them "rude" and such, but they are just super professional.

The spa is super! Has the "Budapest" kind of pools, thai centre, beauty center, manicure, pedicure, you name it.

We lived in a superior double room on 4. floor with a view towards the Danube. The noisiness some visitors describe is not a problem at all. The room was a bit cold when we arrived, but there was an electric oil-heater in the room which solved that matter. Very clean! Super-excellent double bed matress. Mini bar. Very smart safe. You can have breakfast in your room if you like. You just put on the bathrobe provided in your room and go... spa...

And afterwards you go to Alabardos Etterem and eat. In my opinion Gundel (which the hotel makes advertisements about is a bit hyped. But not bad at all!) I didn't try the hotel restaurant, but the lobby bar makes excellent drinks.

Come here and enjoy old-fashioned stylish hotelling and spaing.

The only minus was that Internet cost 14€ per 24h. It's kinda old fashioned to still charge for the use of the Internet connection, but hey, they need to make money. If it sucks too much for you to pay for it, walk 200m up the street to Nevada pub, they have Internet access for free for their customers.

Actually, there is one more negative thing: The hotel webpage does not really inform well enough about all the services the spa offers. Although the spa services are offered through a different company within the same building, they should really work on promoting their offers so that their guests would have a chance to plan a bit what they want to attend and get treated before they actually come there. But that is of course only about the web page itself. The services are excellent and very affordable.

My boyfriend decided to spoil me on a romantic surprise weekend in Budapest and booked the gellert. The spa was absolutely brilliant and very good value for treatments and the food in the restaurant was excellent. Budapest is a beautiful city and we had a lovely weekend. Would highly recommend the gellert- especially for the spa!

Beautiful art nouveau hotel and spa . My room was a bit small even as a single room. Furniture was a bit tatty but endearing I suppose. Staff attentive and pleasant especially in the hotel brasserie . Ate Here food was very enjoyable and quite good value. Very well located for main sights all in easy walking distance. Spa good staff here not so good but they are not employed by hotel so don't blame hotel or badly rate hotel because of this

I LOVE this hotel. This was my second visit with my husband for a relaxing romantic weekend. The price of the room includes free entry to the hotel baths and spa which are amazing. Thermal pools, saunas, swimming pools, massages(extra cost of about €20 for 30 mins). Fantastic. Friendly staff, great buffet breakfast, nice little bar. Champagne brunch on a Sunday 12-3 around €17 a head, unlimited drinks and live piano music. Rooms basic but spotless, lovely clean towels and bathrobes. Mini bar, safe. Location excellent, cross over the Liberty Bridge to the Market and the main shopping street Vaci Ucta. The ballet/opera, book online for around €12 per person. GREAT GREAT GREAT!!!!
