My partner and I recently spent 4 nights here and would defintely recommend it.
The rooms are basic, the equivalent of an Ibis or Premier Inn, functional and very clean. The hotel is quiet, peaceful and well located.
Based in Buda, you can get the 8 or 1112 bus from outside the hotel straight into the centre of Pest. Alternatively, if you fancy a walk, the Metro station is about 15 mins away. Castle Hill and the Citadella are walkable.
There is a petrol station across the road which we found really handy when we wanted to grab some snacks. There is a great pub on the corner up from the hotel which sells amazing food, great beer and is very cheap indeed.
The staff were excellent. They really went out of thier way to make us feel welcome and were very helpful (especially the dark haired younger chap!). This hotel is a great base from which to explore an incredible city. Budapest is a must do. So much history, culture, great food, beer(!) and people.
I only have 2 criticisms. Firstly, there aren't many places near the hotel to eat. You do need to go into Pest or up to Castle Hill for resturants. This shouldn't put you off though.
The second is very minor. The TV only has American CNN!A bit of BBC News or ITV would be good when you're having your downtime!Although, German "Pop Idol" certainly provided a few laughs.
