“Ok hotel in comunist style but 4 stars - no way”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2011

It is a huge hotel, and You could really feel that at the breakfast in the morning - it was a really caos. The staff was tiered som days, but mostly they were friendly. Sign told us that they had breakfast until 10, but they started to close allready at 9:10.......

The bar was opened to midnight. The bartenders wasn´t to serviceminded but mostly correct, probably they didn´t work for tip.... ;-(

Overall You will get better service if You speak hungarian......but it's like that in the whole country

“TOO NOISY AND DIRTY”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2011

You lay in the noisest and dirtiest street of Pest. The employees are not friendly. Only the food was good. A four star hotel, with dirty beds and carpets in the room. Small room. Not very child friendly. It was maybe in the beginning years a 4 stars hotel but now anymore.

“80's luxury, well it was...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2011

I have selected this hotel because of it's vicinity to the place I was planning to visit, but was hoping that this will be a really nice place.

In fact the hotel interiors are in 80's comunist style (for the amateurs of soc-nostalgy it might be an advantage) and it relates also to the bed, linen (tiny), tiles in the bathroom, valves, bathrube - practically everything. Windows are not soundproof and the noise from the street is quite high. Almost all rooms are for smokers, so prepare for shocking smelly experience. Still, it's clean there.

Free wi-fi all over the hotel (ask for password at the reception).

Huge breakfast room which helps a lot in the morning rush hours to find a spot in-between large bustour groups. The food is simply ugly. Juices are undrinkable (sweet, coloured water), just as the coffee (instant machine).

Staff saves the overall image, since they are helpful and friendly.
Nevertheless, I will try to select other hotels in the area.

Room Tip: ask for the quiet room to avoid sleepless night due to the street noise

Dear Sirs,

Thank you very much for taking the time and writing your comments about our staff and about our services. Customers’ comments always help us to improve the level of service in our hotel. Avoiding such negative impressions what our guest made the continuous training for having right attitude and practicing foreigne- languages is necessary and very instructive for our staff too!

I feel very sorry that we could not satisfy your needs because you were not satisfied with cleanliness of room and air-conditioning.
Our hotel may be outdated a bit and regarding the decoration and the overall state of the hotel but I would like to inform you that we always pass the yearly quality audit carried out by Best Western. Our housekeeping always cleans the rooms with care and upon request sometimes and occasionally they go to do an extra cleaning too.
Our air-conditioning system is closed in January because it is unable to use for heating. If our guest had indicated any heating problem so our staff would have been fixed it immediately.

It is always an honour to get also a positive feedback, as it gives us a boost and energy to carry on providing efficient service to our guests. I will forward your kind words to my colleagues.
I do hope that next time you come to Budapest you will return to us, so that we can carry on serving you. I remain

Sincerely yours,

Bela Csapo

“Comfortable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2011

people found this review helpful

A pretty OK hotel, with comfortable rooms, comfortable beds and good bathroom. TV and small refrigerator. Prices vary.
+ close to subway, busses and touristbusses.
+ close to some really good restaurants
+ good service at hotel, friendly staff
- the food. Bad and boring breakfast buffée; dry bread, the orange juice was "yellow water", coffée totally tasteless etc and not much to choose from on the dining menu.
- the streets around the hotel - very noisy during both day and night.
- the non-smoking area of the lobby was smoky due to bad or misplaced aircondition.

Room Tip: A larger double room is necessary. Twin bed at least.
