“Great location, would stay again”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2010

My cousin and I stayed here for 3 nights on a 5-country tour of Eastern Europe. I spent literally hours researching hotels in each city, and I was very pleased with my choice in Peregrinus ELTE. They had a little snafu with our rate- they gave us one that was too low, however they honored it because they had to, and I had copies of all of my e-mail correspondence with the hotel. Even if we had not gotten the cheaper rate, it would have been worth the price to stay there.

The location was great-- within 5 minutes to the underground station, about 10 minutes walk to Raday Utca (a main restaurant street), right off of Vaci Utca, a main tourist street (but it's on a side street so it's nice and quiet).
The staff was incredibly helpful- they got us booked on a sightseeing tour that started within 10 minutes after we checked in, got the taxi to pick us up immediately, etc.

Breakfast was typical Eastern European fare- cold cuts, breads, spreads, hard boiled eggs, juices/coffee/tea, very friendly staff taking care of it all. The "luggage room" is a tiny closet in the back of the hotel that is easily accessible by anyone, but we didn't have any issues.

The hotel has an elevator, which was nice given we were on a higher floor (top floor, with skylights and everything!). The front door is always locked and you push a button so the desk staff views you on the monitor and opens the door for you. Free WiFi was great as well!

**WARNING ABOUT BUDAPEST: Cabbies are crooks! I was quoted by the hotel that a taxi from Keleti train station should be 2,000 HUF, and when we got there, the cab drivers all wanted 4,000 HUF! Even if the meter is running, they fudge it!!**

I definitely enjoyed my stay here and would stay again!

“good quality”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 July 2010

The hotel is located in a quiet, but central neighborhood - very convenient. The building is nice and clean. Single rooms are small, but good enough for the price. Breakfast was ok. The lady who takes care of breakfast was sweet, warm, and lovely. Most staff at the front desk are friendly, pleasant, and nice, except one girl, who always doesn't smile, which effects others' vacation mood a little.

“Very good value 3* in an excellent location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 June 2010

The Peregrinus is a good 3* hotel that cannot be faulted for its location. Its just around the corner from Vaci street and really ideal for a weekend break. Its very affordable and the staff are very pleasant and polite. Rooms range in size and are basic but fine. Breakfast is continental with a fair selection. I travelled with a group of 15 and we found the hotel ideal for our needs.

Just back from a week at this hotel. Well situated off Vaci utca but in a quiet street. Plenty restaurants and cafes nearby and close to Metro stations. Very comfortable room, lots of space but shower room small. Would certainly stay there again.

“Highly recommend”

This was our third hotel in a week (somewhat travel-weary) and we loved it. The desk staff was helpful and the breakfast good. The room was immaculate, warm and cozy. We had free inroom internet and nice cotton duvets. The location is exceptional- close to public transportation and the river and marketplace- easy to walk to many places. The hotel interior is conservatively grand. I will definitely stay here again.
