“3 stars”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

I spent 5 nights (from Sunday to Friday) with a corporate rate. The check in was quick and good , plus I was glad to find out the WIFI was complementary because of my rate. However, I had to ask for a voucher every day, because it only lasted 24 hours. I went up to my room (1306), which I found nice and spacious. However, I found it odd to have a twin room as i was staying alone. Nevertheless, I didn't mention anything during my stay as I don't usually complain.
As it was late, I decided to have a quick bite in the bar area. Although it was empty, the lady who served me was very nice and recommended the me club sandwich, which it was delicious. The next morning I had a lovely buffet breakfast. Until then everything was going pretty good.

Then I went to reception to ask for a new voucher for the comp internet. I was asked to pay (I can't remember how much). When I told the receptionist that I was told it was free on check in the previous night, his answer was "Was I here last night?" Seriously, I found him very rude and abrupt. The next 3 mornings the breakfast was bad as they didn't have the buffet because the hotel was quite empty. Also, every day I had to ask for the WIFI voucher I had to sign a paper and the receptionist seem bothered about it.
The place over all is nice but old, the staff could be more smily. they seem to have been working there forever and forgot about customer satisfaction!

Room Tip: Ask for a king size bed, otherwise they will allocate you in a twin room

“Not great”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

The room was filthy, staff spoke very little english, there is nothing of note in the area, supposed to stay for 3 nights but checked out after one for the Four Seasons. The shower was dirty and the towels were like cardboard. View form the room is very good if you are on the right side of the building.

“the expected value”

I was here the end of december with friends. Transfer, staff, breakfast, restaurant terrace, elevator, room were expected. We’ve got a mindful surprise praliné from the room service. Actually I prefer the 5 star categorie but this Hotel is something other. The panorama view to the Caste district and the cylindrical-shaped style tower together very nice. Recommend the sauna, unfortunately without iced natural lake :). Tack så mycket!

Room Tip: Rooms on the upper floor

“I only found one off the 4 stars the claim STAY AWAY”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2011

When booking the hotel i thought was was getting a good deal for this price a 4 star hotel. I do not know when the got the 4 stars but i dont think anything has been cleaned or upgraded since. The bed sheets where dirty and the attitude of cleaners who woke me up at 8 in the morning to clean even more so.

Breakfast was not worth 2 euro let alone 9 the trick you into paying.

Complained to management about problems and was told that the cleaning staff had been working for years so i must have be imaganing there bad behaviour.

Stay Away

Room Tip: Maybe the where hiding the cleanones.

“cheap and cheerful”

Have just got back from Budapest and stayed at the hotel Budapest
It is on the Buda side so there is not that much around to do
Also it is on the main road (either to the hospital or from the ambulamce depot) so can be noisy at night
The hotel has some really good food on the menu (the goose pate with rose hip jam is superb ) a little expensive but hey ho
Clean friendly and 2 stops from the centre of Pest on the metro and opposite the cog wheel (uphill) railway and tram stops...worth considering if you want a reasonable nplace to stay

Room Tip: try to get one facing Pest

Dear Chris O,

thank you very much for taking time to let us know your opinion about our services.

The two side of the Danube river aren’t the same, and that’s true Buda is a bit more historical and quieter than Pest. There the traffic is heavier and the nightlife is more vivid, but thanks to the good public transport system you can achieve Pest in 15 minutes.

The Danubius Hotel Budapest take attention for the professional and excellent meals, and feedback about our team is always very important.

I hope to welcome you in our hotel soon again.

Kind regards,
