Our stay at Mamaison Andrassy Hotel, in January 2012, was a true pleasure. Very friendly and service minded staff. The hotel is well situated, close to a No 1 subway track station (Bajza Utca). The subway takes you all the way to the city center (End station: Vörösmarty Ter) or you can get off at Oktagon to shop. The hotel itself has an intrigueing story and the recent renovation makes it a modern and more than comfortable stay.

We have just returned from a 3 day break and we are so glad we chose Budapest and even more delighted that we chose the Andrassy Hotel. This was a special break for my birthday. We were given a lovely room. The staff are wonderful and go the extra mile to ensure that your stay is perfect. On my birthday we found a bottle of champagne in our room - what a lovely gesture. They can arrange transfers to and from the hotel which we took advantage of.
The hotel is situated in a very good area and is just 2min from the metro - a perfect location.
We will definitely return to Budapest and wouldn't stay anywhere else but the Andrassy Hotel.

We stayed here in early December 2011 and absolutely loved it. The hotel staff were brilliant and couldn't do enough to help us. They also all spoke fantastic English which was a big help as my Hungarian isn't the best! We were upgraded to a Deluxe room and I couldn't fault the room if I tried. We also tried the restaurant on one night as a treat (as it isn't cheap) and the food was brilliant. We were told that the restaurant had been voted the best place to eat in the New York Times and I can now see why.
A few of the reviews on here suggest that the location isn't great which I don't really understand to be honest. There is a metro stop only a couple of hundred yards from the hotel and the metro is very cheap. On the first day we walked everywhere and managed to see most of the sights that we were interested in without using public transport at all.
As we were there in December we saw all of the Christmas markets which are well worth a visit. The atmosphere in the evenings with mulled wine and rum laced hot chocolate has to be experienced.
A fantastic hotel in a beautiful city. We will be going back!!

booked with easy jet holidays and were very pleased withe this hotel, rooms were very large and well maintained located at the far end of andrassy so quite at night but easy access to hero's park and metro/trams into town, or do as we did and have a gentle walk there and back. 10 minutes walk to main restaurant area and theatre area. Rooms had no tea/coffe facility which was the only fault.
