Staff: without exception, the staff were friendly and helpful. For example, a packet of maps and activities was ready for me on arrival.
Location: the hotel is centrally located close to the Opera and an easy five minute walk from the Deak Ferenc Ter Metro. Also, the trolley-bus from Keleti Station passes close by the hotel. There is a good supermarket across the road and several restaurants, including one of the excellent Trofea chain, close by.
Room: the room was large and comfortable. Despite it being -15C outside the room could be made as hot as desired! The bathroom shower was larger than many as was the ‘fridge. There was no coffee making but free coffee, tea etc. could be made in the dining room all day and night after breakfast.
Breakfast: on my first three days there was a small hot buffet –sausages and assorted eggs/beans – on my last day (I assume to lack of guests!) this was absent but staff would cook scrambled or fired eggs to order. There were also assorted cheeses, meats, cereals and breads. Not as large choice as, for example, at the Hotel Parliament, but more than adequate.
Demerits: the towels could be better; the room safe less portable and the TV choice wider.
Conclusion: a nice hotel and a good addition to the BW brand. I will certainly be using it next time I am in Budapest.
