“Great location, friendly & helpful staff, clean rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Stayed here for 2 nights. The location was great as we were able to walk just about everywhere. The neighborhood felt very safe and had good eating options. The trams as well as metro stations were very close by. The staff was very helpful (eating recommendations and booking a cab back to the airport). The room was minimalistic (There was a fridge but was not stocked, no tea/coffee/water in the room) but clean and functional.

“COMFORTABLE, CLEAN, EXCELLENT VALUE”

We stayed at City Hotel Ring for 3 nights in fall, 2011. It is a centrally located basic traveller's hotel, close to shopping, restaurants, fast food, tourist sights, and transit. Our room had a refrigerator and internet (NOTE: Not wireless, you must bring a cat-5 cable) The neighborhood is safe, day and night. The front desk personnel were helpful, spoke good English, and were efficient (although they do not provide money exchange services.)The street is busy, but there were double windows which did a good job of damping noise. On departing, they held our bags in a secure closet until we were ready to head back to the airport. We would not hesitate to use this hotel again.

“Location & Air Conditioning!”

By American standards, the layout of this place is a bit strange. I stayed here for one night before my return home. However, I ended up being delayed an extra 3 days due to Hurricane Irene since my return was routed through JFK. I brought another 3 couples with me from the airport, all stranded too. While it isn't the Ritz, it is clean, has a good price, gives you an OK breakfast, and has free internet either via their WIFI or via the hotel's lobby lap top for those of us too lazy to bring along our own. It turned out to be a lifeline when we were stuck and couldn't fly out. The location is also very good, with the West End shopping mall close by and the river and Margarit Island within walking distance. When some in our party wanted something more American, we checked out the Radisson up the street. Very nice, but at almost double the price with no free internet and no breakfast, it just couldn't compete!

Room Tip: If you have heavy luggage (like I did), insist that there is an elevator. The receptionist told me...

“Fantastic, friendly, central location”

This was a lovely hotel very near key central sights. The room was nice, although no hairdryer (thankfully I had my hair straighteners). The room was clean, complete with a small fridge which came in handy for drinks. The staff were very polite and helped when needed to book the airport shuttle back. The hotel also has one computer with free Internet downstairs in the lobby. It was always free when I wanted to use it. The hotel is also very close to the metro and also some great restaurants -okay italia and szeraj (if on a budget).

“Excellent location”

This hotel is located 5 minuttes walk from the metro. Shops and restaurants are also just round the corner. The rooms we got were very nice and spacious. The aircondition and internet worked very well, but the small tv was not so good, and we didn't like the channels. The service was very good. Both at the reception and the cleaning was nice too. In all we were very pleased and would love to be back another time.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the first floor as there is no elevator.
