Exelent location, great service, people extremely helpful, breakfast was OK, for tri star hotel I should say more than expected
But one remark. Hotel does not have garage, and its OK, but hotel has a contract with the nearby garage for 2.400 HUF per day. But, before I arrived I got an e-mail from hotel that I should go to a different garage where the price was 6.700 HUF. The very helpful girl at the reception told me about the deal, so I had to go to first garage, get the car and drive to the second garage. It should be on internet site, so if you come by car, first to drive to cheaper garage, not to expensive one.
For the rest I can highly recommend hotel

You couldn't ask for a better location, in the middle of the city and yet on a quiet side street. I even had the room at the very end of the building so my windows looked out onto a busier street, and the noise level was still not a problem.

The rooms are fine---nothing to write home about decor-wise, but clean and comfortable. Free wifi that worked fine, and the breakfast was pretty good. I would definitely stay again.

Pilvax is a nice 3 star hotel. Location is good very near Budapest center and close to metro station. Room was big and clean. There wasn't minibar in the room but there was a fridge, although I'm not sure if it worked. Breakfast was included in room price, but it was quite basic.
Overall nice clean hotel with good location, probably would stay again.

Thanks to a couple of US friends, we found and booked a week at City Hotel Pilvax. Of course, if you want caviar for breakfast, don't go there (I read a review according to which their breakfasts were poor). But they do have decent, if not luxurious, breakfast buffets. The location in the Pest part of the city, not far from the Danube and the Jewish district, is perfect if you like discovering a town on foot ; its pedestrian street makes it a quiet place. Above all, all employees - reception, cafeteria, room service - were most friendly and helpful, and most of them speak English. For a daily €57 - provided you accept advanced booking - I don't think you can easily find a better value downtown Budapest.
