Great central location in Pest. Easy to find and get to by public transport. A few stops on tram 6 from Nyugati station and on the red underground line. Modern well maintained hotel, tastefully decorated with a newly furnished feel about it. Our room on the 3rd floor was large and very nice. Bathroom is a reasonable size, modern and very clean. Nice walk in shower, with large shower head. Toilet is unusually high off the ground, but ideal for tall people. Large flat screen telly in room. Films and internet via TV cost extra. There is no wi-fi in the rooms, but there is wired broadband, which might have an associated cost, but not sure because we didn't use it. Wi-fi is available free in the reception and bar area and it worked well when we used it for internet browsing. The room we had faced the road and whilst the windows are double glazed, if you are a light sleeper or have trouble getting to sleep, you may hear the trams going past late at night and early in the morning. If so ask for a room facing inwards or at the back or side of the hotel. The windows stretch from ceiling to floor and we had a good view over Jozsef krt. The beds are comfortable and our double was very big. The rooms can get quite hot, but there is air conditioning if you need it. We didn't use it and so we don't know how good it is. The staff were very friendly and really helpful and they all speak good English. They were very knowledgeable when we asked questions about where to eat, drink and sight see in Budapest. They lent us towels when we went to the spa baths and always greeted us politely when we came or went. We had breakfast included and we thought it was excellent. It was buffet style, but it had a great selection of hot and cold food. There was continental style cheese and meat, as well as English style bacon, scrambled eggs etc, as well as fresh fruit, fresh bread, cereal, dried fruit and prunes, yogurt etc and you can eat as much as you want. We found we didn't really need to eat again until the evening, because the breakfast was so good. We really thought it was fantastic. There is a mini bar in the room, but is left empty and if you want to you can buy drinks and other stuff from next to reception and fill the mini bar yourself. However, it doesn't work out cheap if you buy stuff for the mini bar at the hotel. It cost us about £6 for a big bottle of water and a small bottle of Pepsi. You are better off going to a nearby shop for nibbles and drink if you want it. We didn't eat any other meals at the hotel, but if breakfast is anything to go by, it is probably very good. There is a sauna and steam room on the 6th floor, open all the time, but there is no swimming pool. The bar area adjoins reception and is in front of the restaurant, it is all open plan and probably designed more for the business traveler, but it is still very pleasant.
We thought this hotel was excellent value for money and we really couldn't fault anything. we would definitely stay again.
Rooms at the side and back are probably quieter, but the rooms at the front have better views.
