“Above all expectations”

The hotel is very nice, clean and new. The point of going there is using the Aquaworld faclities.

Aquaworld is great, it has everything, and it is not too big. A perfect measure. It has all from scuba diving, wave pool, jacuzzi, to 5-story high slides and rides. All very clean and not too crowded (we went Monday to Friday, so I am not sure about weekends). It also has a cute pool for kids, with a small playroom, aquarium, even kids bathroom.

However, the kids are allowed literally everywhere, and they are everywhere. So I am not sure how romantic it would be for couples. We traveled with kids and it was very convenient for us. In general, there are a lot of kids everywhere but they are all well behaved, no screaming or splashing or such things.

There is a lovely playroom for kids in the hotel, which they charge per hour, but it is supervised and quite big.

We had a 3-room apartment which was spacious, light and new. However, it was a smoking zone, so it had a bit of a scent. I would suggest to book a non smoking room.

The apartment was in the D building, and it was quite a walk through the tunnel to reach the hotel. Next time, I will insist on A building.

Everybody walks around in bath robes, and swimming suites underneath. For the whole week we used one pair of jeans and couple of t-shirts (just to get to breakfast and dinner). The hotel is warm enough everywhere so you can walk around in bathrobes.

The food was also very good. Excellent bacon for breakfast :) They have a healthy corner with tofu and salads, and kids corner with smiley potatoes and Hipp baby food and spoons and all.

This is a heaven for families with children. We will definitely go back.

“Spring in Budapest”

We stayed 4 days in the hotel in May 2011. As it was a eBay voucher the price was very good.
What we were disappointed is that to the Aquaworld the hotel guests have to pay the entrance. I expect that hotel guests are automatically welcomed in the hotel aquaworld. We were once there during our stay, and as other reviewers wrote, the main impression is screaming of children. Aquaworld Ramada - never again.
Hotel itself has nice big rooms, the breakfast buffet was fine, and the small spa area (not aquaworld) within the hotel was satisfactory. Overall I would give a rating between "Average" and "Very good".
Although it was fine, it was not special, meaning next time in Budapest we choose another hotel.

“Best waterpark we have been to”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

Had a super time. Better than the waterparks in South Africa where we are from. Cater for everyone. Was a wonderful day and loved the sauna's! Our friend from Budapest knew someone who works (or owns?) the waterpark and they allowed us free entry because we were tourists.

“The New Year's Eve”

We have been to Ramada not only once but a few times and we did that because we always felt great there. On this occasion though there have been too many persons there and many, many children which resulted in lack of silence at every pool even at silent pool from the spa. I try not to blame the staff but I think they should be more severe with the irresponsible parents who do not educate their children. However the rooms are great, the staff friendly, the food diverse and good, the show in the night between years interesting. They have as Loredana said in her reviews problems with the acceptance of cards even at the reception desk. We had to pay money as quarranty because they did not accept our card from where we make usual payments when abroad (meaning that our card is ok and the problem is their). The free bus shuttle allowed us each time to visit a lot in Budapest, without having to travel by our own car. On a whole I will recommend this hotel but if possible not on special occasion when the hotel is full, but in other times of the year. I know the difference between the two situations.

Room Tip: Junior Suite for those who have one child. However every room is great.

“Disappointment”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

Since our last visit at Ramada Resort, things have changed considerably. First of all we were shocked by the attitude regarding our reservation. They had some system problems and our card was rejected when we tried to pay in advance, on their website. One day before our trip, I called twice, talked to two different persons and still could not find out if we have a reservation, if our card is going to be charged or what is the problem with their sistem, why our card was not accepted. Finally they called back and told us we could pay in advance once we arrive at the hotel, after I mentioned that i am thinking about choosing another location for our trip. Still, no applolgies.

Also, since our last trip, the breakfast and the use of the Oriental Spa is no longer included in the price. We found it out at the reception desk, just because I asked about the breakfast. We paid extra 30 euro/ person/day for breakfast + use of the Oriental Spa + AquaWorld ticket. It's not about the money, we intended to pay for the AquaWorld anyway, but again I think they have an attitude problem.

With regard to the pools and AquaWorld, instead of having fun and relaxing, our trip turned into a nightmare. There were kids everywhere. In all of the pools, including the Silent Pool, half of the persons were kinds under 10 years old. They were screaming, crying, fighting and splashing all over. Iresponsible parents, brought their babies (even under 1 year old) in the adults pool and tried to teach them to swim. Some parents even throwed their own kids and the adult pools, although there is a special corner for children, with a specially designed pool and several toys. We haven't had at least 5 minutes of silence or relaxation.

If the management's intention is to turn the hotel into a family destination, it would be fair to mention this. For a couple it is only a noisy hotel, with unfriendly staff.
