This dump is at the intersection of Ikea furniture, typically sour Hungarian workers and run down near communist style facilities.
Everybody in the place hates their job. Workers huddle is corners, hallways and common areas to lament low salaries, the guests and each other. I speak Hungarian so this was amusing and amazingly bad at the same time.
Maintenance is a concept nobody is familiar with and they should learn. The vintage IKEA furniture is tattered, dirty, chipped or otherwise defective. My room did not have a shower just a large tub with a shower hose device. For $400/night no tissues are provided. The internet cost an extra $5/day but it works sporadically. The beds are hard but tolerable. The AC works a little but it is not cold.
As the low rent furniture is both ugly and uncomfortable the room leaves nothing to enjoy. The layout of the place is also odd, as you would expect in Hungary or East Europe. It does not flow together well and dark areas mix with dark colors, yuck.
The front desk staff act friendly but ask for anything and their attitude becomes not unlike a DMV worker, TSA officer or prison guard.
The breakfast is dirty, oily, and very bland. The staff stare at you but will not fetch a fork. The coffee is Nescafe (talk about luxury). Bacon sits in a disgusting pool of lard. Bugs are common. Eggs are cold. Tables are dirty. Nobody cares about this stuff.
If you are heading to Hungary DO NOT STAY HERE. Might I suggest Budapest, Vienna, or a trip to the Croatian coast where a stay at 5 star hotel will cost less and be much better.
