Stayed here for 4 nights 13th -17th Sept requested higher level room which we got and the views are great looking over the lake . We were on the 12th floor , room usual size for Ramada group with mini bar , hairdrier , good size with desk , table and chairs etc . Room was clean but we would say not just a good as standard as other Ramada hotel we have stayed in .
Staff are polite , not all speak English but no problems really with comuinicating although I feel the hotel or staff could have been more informative on the area and hotel facilities .
Well used to getting info ourselfs anyway but we were not told hotel had a bathing area next to lake free for guests use or any info about spa areas it was just left for you to find out yourself . Hired bikes through the hotel for a day which were there the morning we requested . We were just handed the key for lock on bike so after a check on the bikes ourselves we set off . Unfortunately approx 45 mins later in a quiter area outside of Balatonalmadi the chain on my partners bike came off and became jammed . Despite his best effort he could not release it . I tried to phone the hire company number on bike but no reply . We had passed the hire companys base 30 mins back so we had to walk back and eventually got another bike . The man we dealt with didnt speak English and my partner ended up with a city bike not a mountain bike as we were cycling a long way it was not the most suitable . I did complain to the hotel and was only charged a half day hire .
Spa facilities are good in the hotel as is the a la carte menu and dining area for this .
Larger downstairs dining room for b/fast or buffet dinner ( set price ) is a bit grim really not very cheery . B/fast was a strange mix pizza slices , cooked rice (hot), greasy veg , hot dog type sausage , scrambled egg . Usual continental choice and bread which was fine . Michael Bouble music every morn in dining room very repetative . Hotel not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties as lots of stairs in outside areas if arriving by train as we did when exiting the station go to the town side and walk along you will see hotel enter the grounds from gate on this road . Dont go on to the park side or you will have to cross a bridge with spiral stairs at each end which is very difficult with luggage as we discovered . If exchanging money this facility is not available in hotel and you will need to go to the bank in town with passport as well
