I chose this place as it was very close to the train station. I got misled by some signage (this place is so popular it has its own signs, like a tourist attraction!) but shouldn't be too difficult if you follow your map or get some help along the way (some helpful cafe owner pointed it out to me).
I found it a little pricey (€21 for the 12 bed dorm) but maybe it's just Ljubljana. The shared bathroom seems to indicate male and female, but this is not followed, so it can get a little messy in the 12 bed dorms. The beds are also not lined up orderly so you could be sleeping right in the middle of a room with beds spread out all around you, or have the next bed 1 feet away from you. There are almost no space for your backpack! However, they do provide lockers, near the door. Some of the beds are ok, but if you come in late, you might end up with a bed right under the beam - which means you have to be careful when you sit up in the morning!
The cafe seems quite hip and they organise loads of activities in the evening. This is probably a good place if you are keen to hang out.
The breakfast in the morning has a decent variety (included in the price).
Staff seems friendly enough, and was pretty helpful with the bus schedule and things to do around town. However, I was a little surprised that they are relaxed with the luggage room key. They will just pass it to you (the luggage room is quite far from the reception) and you can take things our or put things in without anyone watching over you, nor does anyone check if the doors are locked properly! But of course, they already told you you should not put valuables in the bags, but instead, they offer lockers services at the reception.
Oh, one thing I really disliked about this place is the wifi does not work on the top floor. Hence, you need to bring your laptop down to the living room to access the internet. They do provide you with a login detail but it can only work on 1 item (i.e. if you have a phone and laptop, you can't access internet on both at the same time, and have to keep keying in the password each time you log in).
Overall, I would recommend this place to stay, as it is really convenient to the bus and train station, but probably not the 12 bed dorm!
