“A very pleasant surprise”

We booked two weeks before departure and were worried as the cost was quite low and we were warned of a potential restricted view. We need not have been worried. The hotel was well beyond our expectations!!
The Room... Huge. Loads of cupboard space, king size bed, TV with channels you could actually watch, mini bar( prices as per UK), free internet. the restricted view meant we overlooked the ice rink and had no balcony!
The Hotel Staff.. Really helpful. Offered free ethernet cable for my laptop. Helped with luggage to room on arrival. Restaurant staff, pleasant and attentive.
Location... Two minutes walk to slopes.

General.Tips and Comments. We had a great holiday. VOPA bar opposite Larix hotel is really good value. A pint is about £1.80. Good atmosphere. Try the dark beer, UNION DARK, a bit like stout.
Hotel prices for drinks are high.
Generally though, the village is very quite, not really suitable for young groups.
Never heard the church bells as per previous comments.
SKIING-BOARDING...Nursery slopes seem a bit challenging on busy days. Would recommend all beginners try the slopes at Podkoren about 2km away, they are gentle, uncrowded and ideal for practise!!
Overall, a fantastic, value break.

“hotel was excellent”

We stayed for a week & enjoyed it very much, everyone was so pleasant & always smiling. The food was excellent , with a hot breakfast every morning & at night, you had chicken, beef and fish , you could eat as much as you wanted. This was our 3rd time skiing in this resort, & after trying other hotels, this one was the best. The room was large & the views were great. There were alot of families staying at the hotel at the time we went & after 9pm, everyone was quiet so it was ideal even if you wanted to go to the hotel to chill out rather than go skiing, the slopes were very close & would recommend you ask reception if you could get a locker at the Larex Hotel and they organise it for you so you are on the slopes only 5euros deposit & 2 minutes walking from the hotel. We would go back to this hotel and would recommend it to anyone, have a nice stay!

“Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous.”

I have stayed at this hotel before so knew what to expect. The service is amazing. The staff are so friendly and polite. The rooms are very comfortable. Double bed, sofa, TV, huge wardrobe, spacious bathroom and a balcony (even though I was on the ground floor).
Food was varied and very good quality, theres even a kids station so they can help themselves! Breakfasts are delicious with so much to choose from, you could easily spend 2 hours just having breakfast!
The London tea room is a nice cosy place for a coffee. Their Hot Chocolate is to die for! And fresh cakes every day. Speedy service, always with a smile.
I would recommend this hotel to all ages. Its right in the middle of the village, 5 minutes to the bus stop, 2 minutes to the slopes and swimming pool (in Hotel Larix).

“The Hotel has been Sagarised !!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2010

Hotel busy this year for our end of season break ........(so much so it stayed open until our departure date and we did not get our usual "free transfer" to the Hotel Larix ) due to "Sagarisation" ..........well they seemed to enjoy themselves especially on their final night when the golden oldies danced the night away (well the early evening) to golden oldies whilst the rest of the dining room looked on with amazed amusement.

Our cheap but roomy room included its very own alarm clock due to Kranjska Gora's answer to Big Ben being situated just across the way.

Increased numbers resulted in a little weaving being required round the buffet from time to time. Food generally a little hotter this time and whilst a varied selection was available the quality of the food was variable as well.

Staff fine..........although one did upset my wife when he asked "Are you with Saga ?"
"No certainly not came her reply" (a few years to go before qualification !).

“Nice base hotel for the local area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2010

We stayed at this hotel for a week in late September. As a young active couple we found the hotel to be a good base for our holiday.

We paid for a mountain view room and were not disappointed, we had a small 'suite' with a bed and desk in one room, tv, fridge, sofa, chair and wardrobes in the other room. Plus two balconies. The bells did not disturb as, as we enjoy the sounds such as bells and calls to prayer when on holiday.

The staff were friendly and enjoyed a chat and the hotel was accomodating; providing a cold platter, fruit and water when our flight was delayed and if we were late from a trip. The hotel does not have a pool (we knew this when booking) but access to others in the small village.
The food was okay buffet food, we expected no more, good selection and replenised frequently, as vegetarians we were served well.

There were a lot of Saga 'old folks', who were on holiday for a very different reason to us. They did not spoil our holiday - we would not let anyone do that! But they were a little irritating at times due to the large numbers and the treatment that had from staff, many were there to eat, drink and sit. However, we just had a good giggle and enjoyed ourselves!!
It was in our opinion, it is better situated that other hotels in the village to cafes etc and we liked that.
We would go back if we were returning to the resort as the hotel was what we needed it for - sleep, eat and shower!
