This was our 2nd stay at Hotel Ribno and our 5th visit to Slovenia. We love it, but I'll give as unbiased a view of the hotel as possible! It is set in the countryside on the edge of forestland outside of Bled - a gorgeous location! But OUTSIDE Bled - you really need a car as a taxi will cost approx 12 euros one way!
The rooms are farly basic but have most things you need except a kettle and has a minute tv! Our room was quite small, but clean and comfortable with lots of storage space. The balcony is large, but not private as it is only partially divided from your neighbours. The shower was handheld and no curtain or screen! Last time we stayed our room was better but no balcony.
We only ate from the Al la Carte menu (the buffet did not look too good) and it was excellently cooked food. There is a bar area and a large, attractive terrace to sit out at the back of the hotel.
Staff are very polite and helpful, especially Jure the barman / waiter who works very hard.
This is a unique hotel, not soulless like larger hotels - we have stayed at 3 other hotels in Bled and really prefer this one. Although I admit there is room for improvement we shall definately be going back

Aging conference hotel best known for its scenic views and proximity to Lake Bled. Rooms clean, sweet smelling, spacious. Beds comfortable. But toilet seat broken, mirror cracked, door between conference hall and dining room will not close.. Food in hotel restaurant is good with buffets at all three meals offering a wide variety of items. A la carte portions are lavish, so order only to share with others. The service is excellent. Champaign bottles are opened with a sword.

In a very good location - a quiet spot about 2km from Bled itself. But very tired rooms - and a vile smell from the drains in my bathroom. Poor quality food at both breakfast & dinner: everything bought in & nothing freshly cooked. Pay a bit more & go elsewhere.

I stopped for a night at hotel Ribno on my way from Croatia to the Czech republic, with the goal to have a relaxing overnight break on the long journey by car.
My first impression was very positive when i phoned and asked about the last minute cancellation policy,since i was stuck in a traffic jam on the border between Croatia and Slovenia , and the receptionist was very friendly and assured me that that they could keep the hotel to midnight and no fee would be charged for cancellation.But luckily we made it on time for dinner since we had a halfboard reservation.
The hotel is about 2 km away from bled and if you have a car then getting to bled is not a problem at all , even better in bike or walking , we arrived at 8 pm and there were plenty of parking places. I liked very much that the hotel was situated in a small village Ribno and within the forest with a great relaxing view .Check in was super fast and within 10 minutes we have gotten our room and been seated for dinner which was in the form of buffet, and i have to say the food was very tasty and big variety and the food was bieng changed within 5 mins which is quite a good time considering that we are human beings and not robots and there was plenty of food left by 9 pm which is when the dinner ends.
The rooms were spacious , beds were very comfortable bathroom although small but was clean, i liked the fact that the WIFI is in all rooms and the view from the balcony from the third floor was amazing , and the fact that the hotel is made from wood and one looked at the tall tress if the forest gives you a very relaxing feeling.The cable TV had a wide range of English channels like cnn, cartoon network , discovery and others.
Sleeping quality was very good and there was barely any noise around .
Breakfast was good, the previous reviewer complaints about poor selection , but tell me what do you need more than cheese, eggs, sausages, grilled vegetables, 4 types of cereals, olives , fruits, fruit salad and great coffee, does anyone need anything more than this.Drinking the coffee in the terrase surouned by the long pine trees was great and the fresh air gives you energy for the whole day.Check out was even faster.
I really recomend this hotel for those who seek a calm ,relaxing non polluted vacations.The hotel being 2 km away from bled is a big plus because i had the feeling that staying in bled would be a bit noisy and more commercial .
