From the outside, the hotel doesn't look great - a 1970s (?) concrete monstrosity, but step inside and you're greeted by friendly staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. The interior - yes, it is dated but it is also a fascinating example of mid 20th century Eastern European architecture - lots of dark wood and concrete.
The rooms are a good size with plenty of storage, many have their own balconies with lovely views over hills and mountains (and in the summer, windowboxes full of geraniums) and the bathrooms have super power showers! I arrived late on my first evening and sat on my balcony with a beer soaking up the last of the evening light while looking over the mountains - magic.
The hotel rooms are very clean, and the hotel is quiet (once the traffic noise outside dies down at about 10pm). I was travelling alone and always felt very safe, which is incredibly important to me as a solo female traveller.
The hotel is slightly above Lake Bled, but within easy walking distance of it and all the restuarants. Despite its town centre location, it is opposite a farm and next to an ice rink, so you do get a sense of space when you look out of the window.
The only negative thing about the hotel was the breakfast ... my tip is to go early before the flies get there and avoid anything that looks like the previous evening's meal!
Free Wifi in the lobby and easy carparking (you get a free pass for the P&D behind the hotel).
In common with another reviewer, I also had problems with my booking, but this was sorted very quickly, so no worries there.
Overall, I'd happily stay in this hotel again if I wanted a central location in Bled, and would advise others to do the same
