This hotel offers its guests the unique experience of sharing in Warsaw's reconstruction! As the cement mixer was running when we arrived on Friday afternoon I took the trouble of asking at reception if this was going to carry on the next day. The young girl at reception spoke hesitant English but I understood this would stop at the week-end. But oh,no! Sure enough 8.am Saturday morning the cement mixer was running again. There is a timber framed scaffold type structure in the middle of the central staircase which suggests that other works are going on in the building. Despite asking for a non-smoking room there are cigarette burns on curtains and bed quilt and a distinct scent of stale tobacco. Otherwise good location, interior decoration a bit shabby in the corridors, staircases...building is shared with various offices.

We stayed 3 nights in this Hotel based on the recommendations of a travel agent. We paid $100 Cdn per night and was no where near worth that price. The room was extremely small, poorly laid out and in poor condition. The wireless internet did not work so we had to go down to the lobby in order to get onto the internet. There were 2 elderly ladies struggling with their luggage down the stairs one morning who we assisted and then told us that the staff refused to help. The only positive was the location to the old town (1km away). Do not stay here unless you absolutely have to.

We just spent a week in Warsaw staying at the Hotel Harenda. We had a twin room facing the inner courtyard. While the room was simple and small the price and location couldn't be beat. Easy walking distance to many of Warsaw's sights-old town, the university, The new university library, Science Museum, parks etc, plenty of coffee shops, cafes and places to eat with in 10 minutes of the hotel. Free internet. Since there were so many cafes nearby we never ended up trying the hotels breakfast. Our only complaints would be the bathrooom tended to have a mildew problem even with the ventilation fan. The weather was warmer than we expected and with no A/C in the rooms we had to leave the window open for fresh air. There was construction that started earlier each morning in the courtyard and apparently late at night it was a place for people to hang out and talk loudly. Added to that were the mosquitos and the smell of KFC. However by weeks end the temperatures dropped and we could close our window which helped to alleviated all of these issuse. The windows are very sound proof. Our concerns were minor and we had a lovely stay but if people are sound sensitive or need A/C its worth noting. As others have noted there is no elevator. This was only an issue when we lugged our suitcases up to our rooms the rest of the time it was not a problem. The staff were wonderful, answering our questions, calling cabs very knowledgeable and willing to help out. It was a great stay and a beautiful city to explore.

Our room was small but ehough for two persons. Very clean hotel. Breakfasts are delicious, espacialy the sausages! Very kind staff. Hotel is close to city actractions. The ony disadvantage is lack of lift. We recomend this hotel.
