We stayed here for a long weekend from 24 / 6 / 2010. Ok it is a bit old fashioned but it was very clean and the staff were lovely. The beds were comfey and the room was very large. As for location it is on the main square, near all the shops restaurants ect but very peacefull at the same time. After reading the other reviews on here I was a bit wary but I was pleasantly surprised. If you want value for money, then this is the hotel for you

It was under the heading of budget hotels (it is slightly over-priced for what you get)
I am sure that you could find cheaper places to stay but you would be pushed to find one in a better location than this.
It is located on the square of the old town - Stary miasto and the views of the square are simply stunning.

When booking make sure you ask for a room over looking the square and you will see instantly what you are paying for.
The rooms are basic but clean and warm, even when it is -30 degrees outside !

The breakfast, which is served in the hotels cellar bar and resturant is ok but nothing fantastic. You have a choice of three different types of breakfast so there should be something to suit most people.

Along with the location the other major plus for this hotel is the staff. Most of them speak english and they will go out of thier way to be helpful, should you need anything.
They will book you tickets and get you information and are very friendly.

I have stayed in much smarter, better equipt rooms but wouldn't consider staying anywhere else when in Torun and would recommend it.

Plus: location, staff.
Minus: everything else.
In need of major refurb, rooms shabby and lots of noise from corridor when other guests come in/go out, and from disco/pub in the cellar. Breakfast disappointing (served in pub below!). No hairdryer, shampoo.gel etc. There is no way this hotel is worth the money it charges. Will not be returning.

The hotel is not fancy but the rooms & bath are clean. This is a typical type Polish hotel. The location is great. My room's window looked over the main old town square. Being a university town, this is a nice place to visit for English only speakers as you will meet young students that speak English & want to practice it. The architecture is quite interesting with all the old buildings that didn't get destroyed in WWII.

This really is a little "gem" of an old European town. And as always the prices in Poland are a bargain compared to much of Europe. Lots of bars & restaurants to explore. Note: If you arrive by train you'll need to take a taxi accross the river to get to the hotel. I think it was about $ 5.00. I do recall getting a nice haircut with tip for $ 3.00. I do recommend this hotel for people that don't have to stay at the Marriott with all the fancy stuff.
